I’ve run into a problem with the GPU Hotspot sensor. Yesterday I noticed it reports the same temperature as GPU Temp. I set it up as a simple sensor item and a custom gauge, but after saving, and re‑importing, it always reverts to GPU Temp. I also tried setting it up as a sensor item; the result was the same.

For reference, I’m currently using AIDA64 version 8.40.8510 Beta with an Asus TUF RTX 5070 Ti Gaming 16GB running the latest NVIDIA driver 617.42. The same result occurs on version 8.40.8505 Beta as well. Please refer to the attached screenshots.

Method used in version 5.99 (problem-free):
IoAllocateMdl → MmBuildMdlForNonPagedPool → MmMapLockedPagesSpecifyCache
These three functions work together with the MDL (Memory Descriptor List) method. It is a secure, controlled method for accessing physical memory. Windows manages this method very well.
Method changed in version 6.x+ (problematic):
ExAllocatePoolWithTag → ExFreePoolWithTag
In the new version, the MDL method has been completely removed and replaced with direct kernel pool memory management. The problem is exactly this: When AIDA64 is closed while the OSD panel is open, the memory allocated with ExAllocatePoolWithTag is either not freed or is double-freeed. The Windows kernel detects this and calls KeBugCheckEx → BSOD.

I am using AIDA 64 for a custom sensor panel on an ASUS Ryujin III  cooler display. My PC is maximus hero z790, Intel I9 14900k, (2x48gb) 24Gbp/s DR Hynix m die RAM. 

Its an intermittent issue that gradually gets worse over the course of a single boot session and goes away after a reboot. After about a day or so the sound crackles and pops and gets worse until there's these periods of white noise static explosions that are very loud.  

I suspect AIDA 64 to be the cause. Because I ran the computer without AIDA 64 at boot and the problem did not reoccur for several days when it would normally occur within about 1 day. I will be doing more testing to repeat and confirm this.  Because of the nature of the problem this testing will take a long time. 

Using WPR/WPA, I documented a strong correlation between long USBXHCI.SYS latency and duration of AIDA 64 session. As the session duration continues over the course of a day or so the max latency values climb from 0.1 ms to 30 ms.  Closing AIDA 64, or closing AIDA 64 and reopening it reliably returns latency value back down, however the sound issue does not reliability go away.

(I'm using 8.20.8100 Extreme)
There were several Windows 11 updates recently though.

So if I go to Preferences->Desktop Gadgets->Gadget items program shows small popup window "Detecting sensor information" which stays forever and doesn't detect any sensor.
If I click "Cancel" I'm getting popup window with error message "Invalid pointer operation".

Aida Stability test doesn't show any sensor reading as well.

I haven't change any settings in Preferences->Stability for months. There were no Windows 11 errors/crashes etc. Meaning there were no changes in SW/HW except Windows updates.

Restart with /safe parameter doesn't help, also tried the most recent Aida Extreme (8.40.500) in Trial mode - same results...

Any ideas what could block sensors reading?

It has been updated 2-3 times since I installed it, most recently a few days ago. I purchased a 9x2 inch monitor (1920x480) specifically for the Sensor Panel. But as long as I have had it, whenever I run AIDA64, at some point it freezes. The Sensor Panel stops updating, and it is impossible to close AIDA64 (clicking X or selecting End Task in taskbar, task manager Processes or task manager Details) without rebooting. It has happened as quickly as a few minutes after launching and as late as 12-15 hours after launching, but it always freezes. As far as I can tell, nothing else is affected. I'm currently using the default Sensor Panel but have tried several customizations with the same result.

My system: MSI MPG X870E Carbon Wi-Fi motherboard, Corsair PSU, Ryzen 9 9950X, ASUS RTX 5090, ASUS ROG RYUJIN 360 Cooler, 192 GB G.Skill DDR5 RAM, 4x4TB Samsung MVNE SSDs, 4x24TB Western Digital & Seagate HDDs

Hi,

I’m experiencing a sensor monitoring issue in AIDA64 on an ASUS ROG Crosshair 2006 (X870E).

In the latest AIDA64 version, some motherboard sensors either disappear completely or show incorrect values.

In the previous version, the sensors would disappear intermittently: sometimes they were detected correctly after launching AIDA64, and sometimes they were missing.

The issue seems related to ASUS monitoring software. After installing Armoury Crate or ASUS MB Manager, motherboard sensor readings in AIDA64 become unreliable or disappear.

At the same time, HWiNFO reads the same motherboard sensors correctly and consistently, even when AIDA64 has the issue.

System:

  • ASUS ROG Crosshair 2006 (X870E)
  • Windows 11, latest build
  • AIDA64: latest version
  • Armoury Crate / ASUS MB Manager installed
  • HWiNFO: no sensor issues

Could you please check whether there is a compatibility issue with sensor monitoring on the ROG Crosshair 2006, especially when ASUS monitoring services are installed?

I can provide sensor dumps, ISA Sensor Debug information, or other diagnostics if needed.

  4. After modifying the SensorPanel size Preference back to 1280x800, AIDA64 continues to upscale the SensorPanel even though the same .sensorpanel file is imported.
  5. AIDA64 is ignoring the SPWIDTH and SPHEIGHT within the .sensorpanel configuration.

DETAILS

I have a Dell ultra-wide 5120x2160 monitor and a Jonsbo D41 LCD screen 1280x800 (which I use for the SensorPanel).

    • Extend these displays (Monitor 1 (Dell monitor) extends to Monitor 2, the Jonsbo LCD screen)

The 2nd line of the SensorPanel file, "David Update 2023-07-16.sensorpanel" (attached), states the following:

  • <SPWIDTH>1280</SPWIDTH><SPHEIGHT>800</SPHEIGHT><SPBGCOLOR>0</SPBGCOLOR>

With the Scale of the main monitor set to 150% and even though the SensorPanel size is locked to 1280x800 and placed on 1280x800 display, as soon as I restart my system or I import the sensorpanel config again, the SensorPanel Preferences changes the size to 1920x1200.  (Reference the attached aida65_KoRgFsqL8.png.)  Not only that, when the SensorPanel displays after a reboot, it displays on the main display, not the 2ndary display despite the fact that I moved it to the 2ndary display and locked it there.

I've also tried using a combination of the integrated GPU on the Intel i9-13900K display for the LCD panel, but the same problem exists.

I bought a WigiDash for the sole purpose of using it as an Aida64 display.

The problem: Aida64 8.20.8100 Extreme (trial from the Aida64 website, portable zip version) supports only a few displays and the Gskill is not among them. I found an earlier version, 7.40, with support for the Wigidash which I tested and it works well, but with 8.20 it is is nowhere to be found. I tried running the WigiDash manager before Aida64 (a suggestion I found in the Wigidash manual), to no avail, Gskill never shows up in the "LCD" section of Aida64 settings.

Is the support gone or am I missing something obvious?

A side question: Are there any reasonable (5-7") displays for Aida64 which aren't just basic HDMI/DP external displays with all of the downsides it brings?

I would like to report an issue introduced in the latest update.

Issue Description: After updating from v8.25.8200 to v8.30.8300, S.M.A.R.T. "Current" values are no longer displayed for any of my storage drives (including SATA HDDs and SATA SSDs).

Troubleshooting Done:

  • Checked File > Preferences > Stability and confirmed that "Low-level SMART operations" is enabled.

  • The issue persists after restarting the application.

Comparison: CrystalDiskInfo and other monitoring tools can read and display all S.M.A.R.T. values normally for the same drives.

System Environment:

  • AIDA64 Version: Extreme v8.30.8300

  • OS: Windows 11
