Fan with 7Volt of ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Pro not work

Compare Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P and ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Professional

I have a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P Board.

When I to connect a Scythe S-Flex SFF21D with 7Volt

on the Board AIDA indicates correctly ca.600 rpm!

When I to connect the Scythe S-Flex on the Motherboard from ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Pro

AIDA indicates nothing at all unter 7 Volt Fan (by 12 Volt indicates correctly rpm).

What is here the Problem?

Yes!

When i start the UEFI (BIOS)

is in the UEFI (BIOS 1.80) from Asrock Fatal1ty P67 Pro

the RPM correctly:

FAN 2 Speed 617 RPM

I'm afraid it's not it :) Please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window, where it reads "Copyright © 1995-2011 FinalWire Ltd", then in the popup menu that appears select the second menu item called "Sensor Debug", then in the submenu that appears select the third menu item called "ISA Sensor Dump".

Thank you, that's what we were looking for. But I'm afraid your motherboard is one of those ASRock boards that use a special GPIO-based fan muxing. It effectively means only the BIOS Setup and ASRock's own Windows utility (F-Stream) can measure fan RPM for the muxed fan header called "CPU Fan2". You need to connect your fan to another fan header to let AIDA64 read the fan speed.

I guess 3-pin would be better, although we don't have first-hand experiences on 7-Volt fans.
