fixed: Flickering Adafruit 20x4 LCD

Hey Aida Team,

i have some issues with this Adafruit LCD wich is recomended. On the two Pictures you can see what aida should do and what can i see on the Display. The First line is completely erased and the screen is flickering. The Adafruit Backpack is set to 20x4 LCD. When the Display is updating you can see the right setting for a millisecond.

But if i change the LCD Setting in AIDA to 16x2, and leave the Backpack in 20x4 mode,  the Screen isn flickering and the first line is there. I think you got a little problem with the 20x4 Driver. I have Searched for the code but i cant find it, to edit it if i found the failure. 

 

Please give me response for this BUG. I have extra ordert this overpriced 50€ LCD for it.

The issue will be fixed in the next AIDA64 beta update.  I'll post a message into this topic once the new beta build is available for download.

i have fixed this problem. Basicly it isnt a problem, its just a wrong Setting in the Adafruit Backpack (This is the Backpack https://www.adafruit.com/product/781). 

You must set the Display to auto-line-wrap off with 0xFE 0x44.

 

It is not the problem from AIDA Software.

 

But i have one Wish at the next Update for this ADAFRUIT DISPLAY. My Display is a RGB LCD, it would be nice if we can change the Color for the Display or a Background light if e.q. CPU is to hot Diplay turns from GREEN to RED.

It's great that you could solve it by yourself.  But, in order to avoid such issues in the future, we've changed AIDA64 to send the Auto Line Wrap Off command at Adafruit LCD init as well.

Make sure to upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme available at:

https://www.aida64.com/downloads/latesta64xebeta

After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade.

      We've added support for RoboPeak RPUSBDisp color graphical USB-connected LCD display.

      You can enable the LCD device from AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring / LCD / RoboPeak. Currently there is no Windows driver made specifically for RoboPeak displays.  But there's a workaround: you can use the AlphaCool LCD driver (Version 2.1).  The driver installation has to be forced due to the USB device ID mismatch (between AlphaCool and RoboPeak displays).
      The driver installation works as:
      Open Device Manager --> Other devices --> double-click on rp-usbdisp --> Update Driver button --> Browse my computer for driver software --> Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer --> Show All Devices --> Next button --> Have Disk button --> Browse button --> select acusbdisplay.inf file from the AlphaCool LCD driver folder --> Next button --> press Yes button on the Update Driver Warning message box.

      We've added support for Matrix Orbital GTT color graphical LCD displays. The only connection method currently supported is USB.

      You can enable the LCD device from AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring / LCD / Matrix Orbital GTT. You need to have the appropriate Matrix Orbital USB LCD drivers installed, and the LCD to be connected to a USB port.
      Note: GTT displays implement a slow serial connection which makes frame updates a bit sluggish.

      We've added support for Matrix Orbital EVE2 color graphical LCD displays. The only connection method currently supported is USB, via Matrix Orbital's own USB2SPI converter board.

      You can enable the LCD device from AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring / LCD / Matrix Orbital EVE. You need to have the appropriate Matrix Orbital USB LCD drivers installed, and the LCD to be connected to a USB port.
      AIDA64 uses LibMPSSE-SPI API to communicate with SPI devices. You need to copy the 32-bit libMPSSE.dll file from the latest LibMPSSE-SPI ZIP package into the AIDA64 installation folder. In the LibMPSSE-SPI ZIP package you can find that file in the Release/lib/windows/i386 folder
      [Note: Since AIDA64 v5.98.4810 build AIDA64 uses FTD2xx library to talk to EVE2 LCDs.  LibMPSSE-SPI API is no longer used, and so its DLL module is no longer necessary]
