Aux Temp? What Does It Measure?

I am new to AIDA64, but I really like the utility.

I was wondering what AUX monitors under Sensors. (I have attached a screenshot.)

Through the stress test and within Sensors, it appears that the CPU cores are operating within specs.

I was wondering if AUX is too hot.

Aux looks like just an invalid reading that you should ignore.

Please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Sensor Debug --> ISA Sensor Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic.

Based on that data we can check what Aux represents on your motherboard, and fix any potential issues about sensor readings on your motherboard.

in some setups the AUX temp can actually be a ACPI Temperature from the PSU.

Most PSU's do not provide a temperature reading ;) On mobile systems ACPI temperature comes usually from the EC (Embedded Controller) or simply shows an average of the Intel DTS core diode temperature readings.

Thank you. The Aux temperature looks like an invalid reading that should be ignored. We'll remove that reading in the next AIDA64 release.

Rising AUX Temperature (What can I do to solve this problem?):

Aux temperature: rises from 98 deg. C to 128 deg. C and disappears from display (drops to 0 deg. C) practically freezing the Computer.

Since it is a bogus reading, we've removed the Aux temperature on your motherboard in the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme Edition available at:

http://www.aida64.co...14gcn7wyrhdzzip

After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade.

On MSI X58M SLI it could be a secondary CPU temperature or the north bridge temperature.  Hard to tell, since it depends on the motherboard design.

On ASRock ConRoe1333-D667 motherboard we have no information on what Aux temperature represents.  It looks like it's a valid reading though.

5.50.3621 beta have that Aux. Is it becouse it's still beta or ?

Thank you :) That is a 3rd temperature reading for your motherboard. It could be anything, like a 2nd motherboard temperature, a VRM temperature, a 2nd CPU temperature, or just a bogus reading.

Interesting, but I didn't have that reading on previous versions of aida. It's not fixed so it's measuring something no doubt, can't be CPU temp. because CPU temps are around 30 now in idle, won't go higher than that. Is there any way to find out what that aux temp. is really ?

Quite frankly, I have no idea what the Aux temperature is doing there :) It should be removed as a reading that the motherboard doesn't seem to handle in either the BIOS Setup, or in ASRock's own monitoring software. The only explanation behind the Aux reading could be that it comes from another source, like a secondary sensor device (most likely USB) you have connected.

Only usbs I have connected are my mouse Logitech g500 and my keyboard Logitech ultra premium flat. I have PCMCIA adapter and sound card inserted into adapter that is connected to my external sound card, but I don't think that would have any sensor on it. I will test tomorrow with open window when it's cold outside if that temp is going any lower than 47-48C or is it just stuck like that.

 

EDIT:

I tried to disconnect mouse and keyboard but that aux sensor is still there, and I found out when I disconnect any of usbs two out of three sensors of my hard drives are gone, and they reappear again after ~5 seconds.

That aux temp. is bogus reading because now when my window is open and outside is 0C everything is around 15C( except PCH diode that is 43), and that aux is 54C :D so it's definitely false.

Aux shows 126C on my motherboard. Strange because I don't see this sensor often. I attached report file I hope this file helps developers. And I sent another report with sensors information to support team from the program, but Aux maybe disappeared while I sended..

Thank you. That reading is just a bogus value. We'll remove it in the next AIDA64 beta update.
