CPU/NB VID (Asus M5A97 Evo)

Hi there, in the overclocking window my NB VID stays at 1.1v no matter what the BIOS setting is. Is it possible for AIDA to read the actual voltage instead of the VID?

Thanks.

If it's possible, please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Sensor Debug --> Embedded Controller Dump. Copy-paste the results into this topic.

Please do that for 3 different states:

1) CPU/NB Offset Voltage = Auto

2) CPU/NB Offset Voltage = +0.02500V

3) CPU/NB Offset Voltage = +0.05000V

Also let us know what AIDA64 detects as North Bridge VID (on the Overclock page) in those 3 cases.

Thanks,

Fiery

AUTO (auto is 1.45v due to NB overclock).

Please upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme Edition available at:

http://www.aida64.com/downloads/aida64extremebuild2114y5mb2xqrjhzip

After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade.

Let me know how it works. Please note that we've kept the North Bridge VID intact on the Overclock page, and added a new reading (CPU/NB voltage) to the Sensor page.

Thanks,

Fiery

What is the actual configuration that yields to 1.15V? More specifically, what is the NB VID value, and do you use absolute (manual) voltage selection for CPU/NB voltage in the BIOS Setup or +/- offset voltage?

Also, for the current settings (of 1.15V) please copy-paste an Embedded Controller Dump, so we could check the register values.

I use offset voltage, NB VID is 1.1v in overclock window.

Thank you. EC registers indicate that you use +0.15V offset on top of the NB VID of 1.10V, which adds up to 1.25V CPU/NB voltage. What is the CPU/NB voltage offset value configured in the BIOS Setup? If it's not +0.15V, then there may be a BIOS bug ;)

Hi, it's 1.15v as shown in the above screenshot... :)

The value on the right is the target or offset voltage, the value on left is the actual voltage.

Thx again

Hmmm maybe the BIOS is wrong, because if you look at the screenshot at top of page the CPU/NB offset and actual values are the same.

Looks like AIDA is correct. :)
