  1. Hello, I have just registered to share my discovery. Basically I cleaned and reassembled my PC yesterday and installed a fresh copy of windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. I then decided to run Aida64 stability test first thing to make sure everything is working fine. After running the test, I left the room. When I came back I found my computer powered off. Confused and baffled me, I turned on the computer and opened Aida64 again. There was a message stating that the test was shutdown unexpectedly after 30 minutes with the absolute max temperature being 85 degrees. Which is not enough to trigger thermal shutdown. So I ran the test again, and sat there to observe what happens. 30 minutes into the test and it shutted down again. THAT is when it hit me. Since both times it shutted down exactly after 30 minutes, I knew it was not hardware related. The only event I could think of that occurs after 30 mintues is "Sleep" option in windows. Went into power options and changed the "put computer to sleep after 30 minutes" to "never" and viola, no more shutdowns, been working fine for more than 2 hours now. Note that the sleep option was causig the computer to switch off, not go to sleep-mode. I think its a bug. Here are the core specs of the system if that helps: Core i7 4790K (stock) Msi Z97 Gaming 5 (default settings) Corsair vengeance 16 GB (XMP Enabled, 2400Mhz) No Dedicated GPU (Using iGPU)
