I been using Aida64 for while with a sensor display.

I recently started playing around with the FanControl app from Remi Mercier, as I am trying to take proper control of my radiator fans for the GPU loop.  My Asrock Z690 Tachi board does not see a GPU sensor for me to link the fan header I use for the radiator, so I either have to choose another temp source or set it to fan speed in bios.  I was hoping to use fan control to do this.

But I noticed my sensor display has issues when the fan control app is running. If it loads it does not update it shows static values at the time it loaded not current changing values.   If I turn off fan control it displays fine.

So I was wondering why the two are fighting over a simple sensor read. I am not using Aida to control anything. Is there some setting I am missing or do I need to just scrap my idea of using Fan Control to better control my GPU water loop fans.

Well that was an epci failure, unless I am missing some settinng that is letting argus take full control it is interferrign wiith the Aida just like fan control did..

I think the problem lies somewhere else in your system. I currently use Argus Monitor for fan and RGB control, but I also used FanControl before that. Both of them worked without errors along with Aida on my Asus Rog Strix X670E...

My research is indicating it is a collision/polling issue between the apps, supposedly argus and aida64 current use a sequencing poll which allows for concurrent access but that doe snot appear to be the case.  I don't know yet were the current version of fan control falls in with this concurrent/polling issue yet, but I cam across a post from about 3 years ago that indicated otherwise.

Can anyone explain when to use the external application options in Aidea64 preferences? I may try these playing wiht these but need to research these options.

revjoe -
i just upgraded my platform yesterday, and ended up having to upgrade to aida for my external sensor panel, as it's software used OHM, which is dead and doesn't support new hardware.
after installing aida64, my fancontrol went bonkers and started not detecting sensors on my new GB x870 board.
going into aida pref, external programs, and enabling shared memory fixed it for me.

YMMV
