Help setting initial setup

I am new to this software. I bought a 5" HDMI raspberry pie LCD display and created a custom hardware monitoring display for it. I watched a few videos on how to do it and everything works great except my GPU. I am still using a EVGA GTX 1060 6Gb waiting for availability of a RTX 1080 to become realistic. I am trying to display RTSS FPS graph, RTSS FPS Simple Sensor Item, Cooling Fans_GPU Sensor Item, and GPU Memory Clock Simple Sensor Items. All the values read zero except the GPU Memory Clock Simple Sensor. I get FPS values in various benchmark software if that matters. Is my GPU not sending this info in a way that AIDA64 can understand, or have I missed a step in my setup? I understand that both the RTSS components need a game to be running in the foreground to work, they do not.
