New user here - I'm testing AIDA64 with a POS VFD display and so far so good - everything seems to be working correctly and I have AIDA64 set to autostart with Windows and minimize to the system tray with hardware monitoring running in the background. I noticed that the cpu utilization percentages were way off but I seem to have resolved that by disabling the Win 11 cpu workaround stability option (W11 Pro / 13600K / Z790).
However, it seems like AIDA64's monitoring is now preventing my system from going to sleep - the monitor screen goes into power save, but my system stays running. If I close AIDA64 my system will go to sleep as expected when it times out. I've done a bit of Googling and it seems the majority of AIDA64 sleep inquiries are related to some failure with the system waking back up (frozen screens etc)... I am looking for a solution to the opposite problem - Is it possible for the pc to enter sleep if no activity is occurring other than AIDA64 running in the background?
Thanks for any suggestions.
EDIT - These are nice 2 x 20 vfd displays with usb interface for dirt cheap ($20 shipped) on eBay. They are NOS and as such brand new condition - mine still had the plastic film on the cover. They are quite large, about 8" wide and 2" tall, but the case and hinged bracket on the back mean they look professional and you can just place it on your pc. Granted, they are limited to ASCI characters but for the price and vfd uniqueness they are a steal at $20 and work with AIDA64 via the POS lcd interface.
EDIT 2 - Turns out the POS driver I installed (that wasn't even needed - generic Prolific serial driver works just fine) disabled the sleep settings on my pc. lol
