blackbirdsr71
Helo The desktop icon disappeared. I have windows 7 ultimate. What surprised me is that the first time i installed the program everything was fine. Which could be the problem? Thanks
Fiery
You can always copy-paste the AIDA64 icon from the Start Menu onto your Desktop Regards, Fiery
blackbirdsr71
Hi, The problem is that it disappeared from the start menu also
Fiery
Maybe it's because you accidently uninstalled AIDA64?
blackbirdsr71
No, I did not. It is working but i can see the icon correctily it was changed by a generic one of windows
Fiery
So the icon is there, but it is not the AIDA64 icon, but a generic icon? We've seen such issues, but only when the AIDA64 shortcut pointed to a remote path (UNC path). The icon still works fine then, just doesn't look right. Does the icon behave similarly on your system? blackbirdsr71
Sorry for the delay. The icon still works and aida works fine but i don't like to see that generic icon. I don't understand what you mean with the last question.
Fiery
I meant to find out whether it's only an appearance issue, and the icon still works fine -- but you already confirmed those Can you please check where the shortcut of the icon points to exactly? Is it C:\Program Files (x86)\FinalWire\AIDA64 Extreme Edition\aida64.exe ?
blackbirdsr71
Yes: "C:\Program Files (x86)\FinalWire\AIDA64 Extreme Edition\aida64.exe"
dicht
Hi, sometimes the Icon Cache Database of Windows gets corrupted. You can delete the iconcache.db file as explained here http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/49819-icon-cache-rebuild.html and restart Windows. Let's see if it helps.... regards dicht
