Mr.Torture
Hello, and since this is my first post here, thanks for amazing piece of software. Now, every since I built new system (including mentioned motherboard and processor) I can't get AIDA64 to properly read sensor temps. I'm getting ridiculously low temps on all 4 separate cores, as you can see from screenshot, while CPU reading is unnaturally high on the other side (60 degrees as soon as I turn on my system). Also, while leaving AIDA64 activated, I'm seeing extreme core temps fluctuations while doing various tasks, like 15 degrees up and down in just a few seconds. Like it's reading CPU usage, and not temperatures. Here is the screenshot:
Fiery
Many modern AMD processors (since Llano/A-Series and Zambezi/FX) have a hardware flaw that yields into unreal core diode temperature readings at idle. AMD said the core temperatures are only reliable when the processor is under heavy load. As for the "CPU" temperature, that is measured by the motherboard sensor chip. Make sure to compare the value against Gigabyte EasyTune6. If you can see a different temperature reading there, then please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Sensor Debug --> ISA Sensor Dump, and copy-paste the full results into this topic. Thanks,Fiery
Mr.Torture
Thanks for reply. Ok, this is what I'm getting with EasyTune 6, and I'm not even sure that this is correct also. And as same as with AIDA64, CPU readings are also jumping from 13 to 24 in just few seconds, like when I open Photoshop, and then getting back to 11-13 degrees again. And here is sensor debug from AIDA64: ------[ AIDA64 v2.80.2300 ]------------[ Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 6.1.7601.17514 Service Pack 1 (64-bit) ]------------[ Motherboard Info Fiery
Thank you. The bug will be fixed in the next AIDA64 release due next week
Mr.Torture
Thanks for assistance, but unfortunately, after the new version update, wrong readings are still there. The only difference I notice, is that CPU reading is now extremely low, in contrary to last time, when it was too high. Here is the screenshot: I must add that when I'm doing some cpu intensive stuff, the readings seem to be normal, but as soon as computer is back in idle state, readings are falling extremely low, like on screenshot. Fiery
I'm afraid that may be due to the improperly implemented temperature diode logic of Llano, Trinity, Richland, Zambezi, Vishera processors Such issue can only be fixed by applying an offset on the temperature readings in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring / Correction. Mr.Torture
Yeah, I also think that there is something seriously wrong with those processors, not defective or malfunctionable, but wrongly implemented yes. For example, this is the screenshot from Gigabyte's Touch Bios, where cpu temp reding is again obviously wrong: And this is reading from bios: Bios reading is obviously closer to real state, but it also can't be trusted, as it's not normal to have 23-24 degrees CPU temp. Fiery
In the BIOS Setup processors cannot use their power-saving features (like Cool'n'Quiet, C1E, SpeedStep), so in there the CPU temperature readings will always be higher than under Windows.
