StanJones Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Anyone know why is shows my Core i-7 as a "Quadcore" under the 'Motherboard' field? "CPU Type QuadCore Intel Core i7-920, 2800 MHz (21 x 133)" Is this normal for the program or is something wrong with my CPU? Thanks for your help! Stan Quote
Fiery Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Core i7-920 is a processor that has 4 cores. "QuadCore" means "has 4 cores" Regards, Fiery 1 Quote
StanJones Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 OK Thank you. I didn't know that, my gadget always shows 8 cores, but I guess it must mean 4x2 threads or something. Thanks very much for your quick help Fiery! Rgds, Stan Quote
Fiery Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Your processor has 4 cores and 2 threads per core (via HyperThreading), so a total of 8 CPU threads. Other places may refer to your CPU as "4C/8T", meaning 4 cores and 8 threads total. 1 Quote
