fidoqqqqq1@yahoo.com Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Hi, Usually I limit the maximum performance of CPU to 75% in Windows 7 → Control Panel → Power Options for power saving. At this time, the multiplier is limited to x18 (highest is x24)(i7 950). But when I was doing Aida64 Cache and Memory Benchmark, during the test, the multiplier kept x25. Someone tells me what's going on? Many thanks..Thank you in advance.. Happy Valentine's Day. Quote
fidoqqqqq1@yahoo.com Posted February 12, 2011 Author Posted February 12, 2011 Let me say what I guess, hope someone can correct it. I guess the aida64 disable the windows 7 power management temporarily during the benchmarking. But I don't understand why the cpu multiplier is higher(x25) than the highest(x24) during the test. Fiery Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Your CPU supports Turbo Boost. With Turbo Boost the CPU can exceed the maximum multiplier by one or more steps. Quote

Fiery Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 AIDA64 indeed disables CPU power management features before running a benchmark, and it restores settings after the benchmark is finished. Quote
