akayds
Hi I am new I hope I'm on the right section, I have a macbook pro retina 15 inch late 2015 and I recently figured out it was becoming really hot so much that some keys have stopped working from the keyboard. Anyway today i opened it and cleaned it thoroughly i couldnt change the thermal paste cause i'm waiting for the right tools I ordered. I stress tested with aida64 with only FPU case checked and several seconds after it starts the red line starts fluctuating between 0 and 20ish % throttling so i stopped the test right away bu i can't really figure out what it means and the possible causes. Fiery
It means that under very heavy stress your CPU is overheating and throttles to prevent permanent damage. It's normal for mobile computers equipped with Haswell, Broadwell, Skylake and Kaby Lake processors. As long as the notebook works fine under everyday load, you're fine.
