101
Aida64 can not send e-mails. I have tested it with 2 different mail providers (smtp-mail.outlook.com and mail.gmx.net). I can send e-mails with my pop3 mail client (Windows Live Mail) and both providers, but it is not possible with aida64. Both smpt servers needs smpt authentication and the port in Windows Live Mail is 587. With aida64 I have tested the following: ports 587, 465 and 25 ssl checkbox marked and unmarked SSL 2 and 3 and TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 in Internet Explorer settings full firewall and scan exceptions for aida64.exe any idea? 101
smpt.mail.de works with port 587 and 25. Port 465 is also supported by the mail.de smtp server but it didn't work with aida64. Some month ago smtp-mail.outlook.com has also worked with port 587 but something must be changed with the outlook/hotmail smtp server. I think outlook and gmx doesn't except anything in the mail header (maybe the localhost IP) or the encryption chiper which is used with aida64. smtp.mail.de with port 587: Received: from [127.0.0.1] (localhost [127.0.0.1]) (using TLSv1 with cipher RC4-SHA (128/128 bits)) (No client certificate requested) smtp.mail.de with port 25: Received: from [127.0.0.1] (localhost [127.0.0.1]) (using TLSv1 with cipher EDH-RSA-DES-CBC3-SHA (168/168 bits)) (No client certificate requested) I will use port 587 with RC4-SHA (http://securitystreetknowledge.com/?p=882)
Fiery
Please upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme available at: https://www.aida64.com/downloads/latesta64xebeta After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. In order to make it easier for you to configure the SMTP parameters, we've added a new Provider option to the Preferences / E-mail/ SMTP page. That way you can select your email provider (e.g. AOL, Gmail, GMX, Outlook, Yahoo, etc) to limit the number of options you need to properly adjust. We've of course fixed the issues related to how AIDA64 handles SSL and the way it explicitly issues the STARTTLS command. Let me know how it works with both your providers. As I've explained it in your other topic, please contact me in private message and describe what you have configured as e-mail settings in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / E-mail. 101
Since this month it doesn't work again with any of these three mail providers. Previously it worked at least with mail.gmx.net (also smtp.gmx.net), but they have switched to minimum TLS 1.2 since June 01, 2022. https://www.checktls.com/TestReceiver gives the following informations: smtp.gmx.net (or mail.gmx.net) (Port 587) STARTTLS command works on this server Connection converted to SSL SSLVersion in use: TLSv1_3 Cipher in use: TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 Perfect Forward Secrecy: yes Session Algorithm in use: Curve X25519 DHE(253 bits) _______________________________________ securesmtp.t-online.de (Port 587) STARTTLS command works on this server Connection converted to SSL SSLVersion in use: TLSv1_2 Cipher in use: ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 Perfect Forward Secrecy: yes Session Algorithm in use: Curve P-384 DHE(384 bits) _______________________________________ smtp.office365.com (Port 587) STARTTLS command works on this server Connection converted to SSL SSLVersion in use: TLSv1_2 Cipher in use: ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 Perfect Forward Secrecy: yes Session Algorithm in use: Curve P-384 DHE(384 bits) When I try to send a test message I only get: "Failed" "The test message cannot not be sent." In my mail client, of course, all three work fine. Would you please be so kind to update the SMTP client in aida64 accordingly?

101
Here you can create a free SMTP test account that works with authentication and STARTTLS (port 587): https://ethereal.email/create Test mails sent through this account are automatically redirected to the inbox there with the same mail address and do not reach externally specified recipients (it is only for testing whether a program can send or not). The received mails, including headers, can of course be viewed as long as you are logged in and they have not yet been automatically deleted, which happens automatically after a few hours. And of course Aida64 can't send mails to this SMTP either, but my mail program can do it without any problems.
