Slipkid
I got an Abit AN78GS motherboard and I've installed 64 bit windows 7. Aida64 will not show any sensor values, when the sensor page is clicked it just sits there "loading sensor information" indefinitely until the program is exited. I also get no voltage reading in the CPUID tool. Is this a driver problem or a limitation of the program? It does this on the release and the latest beta. Obviously no branded Windows 7 drivers will ever exist for this board, but besides this I've gotten everything to work with a combination of Abit's Vista 64 drivers and the Windows update drivers that some of them turn into. CPU-Z shows the sensor as a Winbond W83627DHG, I can't seem to find anything useful knowing that. That program is able to show me the core voltage and the AbitEQ program for vista can show me all the sensor values, so I guess it is possible to read the sensors from this OS, I just need to know if Aida can't do it or if I'm doing something wrong. All other functions of Aida seem to work fine with this board. What can I do to get my sensors to work? It's running a Phenom x4 9950 and 8 gigs of ddr2-800 if that matters. Fiery
It must be a bug in AIDA64 that we have to hunt down. Please try the following: 1) Start AIDA64, right-click on the bottom status bar of its main window --> Sensor Debug --> ISA Sensor Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic. In case AIDA64 locks up while performing that dump, then please try to make a screen shot to show where the dump stopped. 2) Close AIDA64, start it again. Right-click on the bottom status bar of its main window --> Sensor Debug --> SMBus Dump (Full). Copy-paste the full results into this topic. In case AIDA64 locks up while performing that dump, then please try to make a screen shot to show where the dump stopped. BTW, what video card (or video cards) do you have in your system? Do you have any external hard disk drives or flash drives connected? Or any special USB or FireWire or eSATA devices connected, apart from keyboard, mouse and printer? Thanks, Fiery
Slipkid
Thank you for your response. For now I am not running a video card, just using the integrated 8200 graphics on its VGA port. Driver Version 8.17.11.9713 - nVIDIA ForceWare 197.13 per AIDA64 and confirmed by Windows. I do have an eSATA hard drive, but at this time it is not connected, only the internal/external converter is still there. Typically this drive is plugged in to that and a USB power cord. I have 3 hard drives besides the external, all on the integrated SATA (AHCI mode in BIOS). I have C300-CTFDDAC064MAG (Crucial SSD, as boot), WDC WD3200AAKS-00L9A0 (Caviar Blue) and WDC WD800ADFS-75SLR2 (WD Raptor). Keyboard and mouse are the only things plugged in to USB right now. The SSD is the only hard drive not carried over from my old system. AIDA64 was installed fresh as soon as I got Windows set up on the new system. I did not try the program on this hardware with any other OS. Thanks again for looking into this, the on-screen sensor display is one of my main uses of this program. Both of the sensor dumps seemed to have completed without problem: ------[ AIDA64 v1.80.1450 ]------ ------[ Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 6.1.7601 (64-bit) ]------ ------[ Motherboard Info ]------ Motherboard ID : 06/18/2008-NF-MCP78-8A61OA1BC-11 Motherboard Model : Abit AN78GS/GV Motherboard Chipset : nVIDIA GeForce 8200, AMD K10 Award BIOS Type : Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Award BIOS Message : DMI MB Manufacturer : http://www.abit.com.tw/ DMI MB Product : AN78GS(MCP78) DMI MB Version : 1.x DMI MB Serial : DMI SYS Manufacturer: . Fiery
Thank you. Please try to disable the following options in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Stability, and then restart AIDA64 and check if the Computer / Sensor page works now or not. - Apple SMC sensor support - Dell SMI sensor support - Koolance TMS-200 sensor support - Toshiba TVALZ sensor support - Volterra VT11xx sensor support Let me know if it helps. If not, then please try to issue the following 2 dumps. No need to copy-paste them here, just check if they lock up. 1) Right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Video Debug --> nVIDIA GPU Registers 2) Right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Video Debug --> nVIDIA SMBus Dump
Slipkid
I have the same issue after disabling those options and restarting the program, the sensor page never stops "detecting" Both of the video dumps completed without locking up. Slipkid
Same thing with the igpu disabled and an EVGA gts450 on pcie (forceware 375.33). Oddly enough of all the versions I still have a file for, the only one that shows me any sensor data at all is the old free version Everest Home edition, which has no OSD. I'll keep trying the beta versions of AIDA64 in case this is not something I'm doing wrong - I've tried a lot of driver combinations and the video was the last major change I had planned. percuma88
I have the same motherboard with slipkid. My PC config extracted from AIDA64 Extreme 2.00.1720 Beta : -- (1) Abit AN78GS with Motherboard ID : 06/18/2008-NF-MCP78-8A61OA1BC-11. -- (2) Motherboard Chipset : nVIDIA MCP78, AMD K10, -- (3) BIOS : Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG (06/18/08), -- (4) CPU : DualCore AMD Athlon 5000, 2200 MHz (11 x 200), -- (5) Memory : Two sticks of Kingston DDR2-800 1GB RAM, Module Name : Kingston HyperX KHX6400D2LL/1GN, -- (6) GPU : NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT (GDDR3 256 MB), Driver Version : 8.17.12.7533 - nVIDIA ForceWare 275.33, -- (7) Hard Disk : Maxtor 6Y120P0 ATA Device (120 GB, 7200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/133), -- (8) DVD-Writer : Lite-On Optical Drive ATAPI iHAP322 9 ATA Device, -- (9) OS : Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1 6.1.7601 (Win7 RTM). I ran the Sensor Debug and Video Debug as suggested by Fiery and had identical results as slipkid's. My OS was previously Windows XP Pro 32 bit and had also the same problem when clicked the Sensor page with the "Detecting sensor information ..." prompt displayed indefinitely until I closed the program or clicked other page. So OS was not the problem here. I believed this bug (IMHO) was inherited from Everest Ultimate Edition (EUE) but this EUE was even worse. I couldn't get into the Preferences page UNLESS I changed (edited manually) the everest.ini option from LowLevelSensor=1 to LowLevelSensor=0. After doing this then I could get into the Preferences page and by doing this all I got under Sensor Icons page were System values ie CPU/HyperTransport/North Bridge/Memory Clock and CPU/Memory/GPU Utilization. Other values such as Temperatures for MoBo/CPU/MCP/GPU/HDD, Cooling Fans for CPU/Chassis/Pwr Supply, Fan Speeds for GPU and Voltages for CPU Core/+3.3V/+5V/+12V/VBAT Batt/+5V Standby/GPU Core were unavailable. The AIDA64 Extreme v2.00.1720 Beta the one that I used suffered from the same phenomena. I agreed with Slipkid that the Everest Home free edition amazingly showed some values in the Sensor page albeit only the temperature of the CPU and HDD, at least something. Perhaps the sensor chip on this MoBo Abit AN78GS, Winbond/Nuvoton W83627DHG has incompatibility/conflict issues with the dll file aida_mondiag.dll and/or everest_mondiag.dll. What baffle me is other sensor monitoring softwares such as HWiNFO64, HWMonitor and SpeedFan can display all the vital values without problem. IF my Abit MoBo is the culprit then I will have to make do with what is available with AIDA64 Extreme, forget the sensor page and use other stuff such as the Benchmark page which I use regularly to rank my DIY PCs. Since Abit has closed business in December 2008, there is no chance for us Abit MoBo owners to update the BIOS.
Fiery
Please try to disable as many options on the Stability page in Preferences as possible. As a start, please disable the following options there: - RAID SMART support - SMBus access through ACPI - Apple SMC sensor support - Dell SMI sensor support - Koolance TMS-200 sensor support - T-Balancer sensor support - DIMM thermal sensor support - Toshiba TVALZ sensor support - Volterra VT11xx sensor support - GPU fan speed measurement After altering the Stability page options, make sure to restart AIDA64 to apply the changes. Please let me know if it helps. If not, then please try to disable one more option on the Stability page: - Fan divisor reconfiguration If none of those helps, let me know, and we'll create you a special AIDA64 build with enhanced debugging features to pinpoint the code segment where the AIDA64 sensor module halts on your system. Please use AIDA64 latest beta (Build 1720) for those tests. Thanks, Fiery
