blubber01
Hi guys, I made myself a little server that is running 24/7. For temperatures etc. I run AIDA64. I set Windows 7 to turn off the HDD's, when they're not in use for 5min. It works fine when AIDA64 is not running. If I turn on AIDA64, the HDD's are on all the time. How can I fix this? Sorry for my broken english... ;o) cYa
Fiery
You need to raise the Disk temperature polling frequency in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring to avoid AIDA64 keeping the drives awake. blubber01
But then I get a bad monitoring. Wouldn't it be helpful, that AIDA64 first checks the status of the HDD and then get the temperatures? So if the HDD is turned off, there's no need for a monitoring and energy policy can work. Fiery
AFAIK there's no way to check the status of a HDD The best solution would be if HDD manufacturers made it possible to read SMART attributes (incl. disk temperature attribute) while the drive platters are not spinning. Technically, it would be possible, but no HDD manufacturer makes that possible
