  1. I suppose the issue may be that the motherboard in that scenario fails to provide a stable and accurate APIC clock (ie. BCLK frequency) reading. Without that AIDA64 cannot calculate the CPU core clock properly. Try to right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> CPU Debug --> CPUID & MSR Dump. You can see five APIC clock readings in that dump. You may need to enable status bar in AIDA64 / main menu / View first though.

  2. It would be important to narrow it down a little bit more. Please try to find out which one of the 3 options helps to get rid of the slowdown.

     

    Seems to be a bit better now, not sure if it's anything I did/changed but nonetheless it's not taking more than 15 secs to fire up.

     

    There is another issue that I have noticed with running aida64 in a W10 guest under KVM hypervisor. I have a Xeon 2660 V3 2.6 ghz processor but Aida64 shows it as running @ anywhere between 100mhz and 200mhz or thereabouts. It seems to be reading the frequency of the core(s)? Windows reports back the processor speed correctly (2.6 ghz )so I'm not sure why CPU Clock is like this?

  3. We've never tried that combo. Please note that AIDA64 should work in a virtualized environment, but it is not supposed to provide low-level hardware readings that way.

    You can try disabling the RAID-related options in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Stability, but I'm not sure if that would help...

     

    I now have Samsung 950 pro temp and SMART in the LCD - had to clear my config and start again. But, I still experience slow sensor discovery even with RAID detection off. By process of elimination, it seems the following 3 sensors after kernel in the stability preferences are attributed to this slowness. Is there any logs i can provide you to see why its taking so long for aida64 to initialise?

    I am running W10 Pro with latest Aida64 inside UNRAID (KVM Hypervisor). Aida64 for the best part works OK but I noticed that each time I run Aida64 it hammers disk usage (nvme ssd) up to 100% for about a minute then settles down. It also takes a lot longer (than in vmware ESXi) to poll the hardware sensors of the Windows 10 Guest.

     

    Just for information, I am passing through my Samsung nvme 950 pro m.2 ssd and Nvidia 980ti direct to the Windows 10 guest but nvme ssd sensors such as temperature are not available. Is nvme / kvm hypervisor supported?

  6. By default AIDA64 will use the IPMB driver if installed. If not, it will use KCS, and if it's not available, finally it will try to use SSIF. All those interfaces handle IPMI directly, not via network, so they're local interfaces. In theory I guess it may be possible to develop a special IPMB driver that works via TCP/IP, but I'm not sure if anyone did that already or not.

    Thanks for the explanation. I guess that is the only way it will work if the host is vmware esxi, a real shame I can't add IPMI stats in this case.

    I am a regular user of ESXi 6.0 from vmware and have a system that uses IMPI 2.0 for hardware monitoring.

    I have a Nvidia 5200 quadro gpu in passthrough mode direct to a VM and Aida64 detects this, no problem.

    However, it would be awesome if Aida64 had the ability to read IPMI sensor data so I can report back on cpu temps and fan speeds etc.

    Is this on the roadmap?

    I have the x41 and x61 NZXT AIO coolers. I understand that the Astek pump that these coolers use can be monitored in Aida64, is this correct?

    I don't have any sensors fromt the pump available in Aida64. NZXT cam software detectes everything fine. Are these pumps/AIO's supported?

HWiNFO and SIV directly control the Corsair Link hardware using the Global\Access_CorsairLink named mutex to synchronise access, however the Corsair Link application does not use this mutex so there are issues when the software collides. We've asked Corsair to provide us with a SDK to let us implement proper support in AIDA64, but they said the current Corsair Link framework is already deprecated, and that a new one with major changes is about to come out. We're still waiting for the new generation of Corsair Link to be released though... Corsair said the new framework will include a SDK that AIDA64 could use to talk to Corsair Link devices, without collision issues.

    I know this has been discussed a few times but I feel the time is right to resurrect the discussion for supporting Corsair link monitoring.

    We now have free tools available (HWINFO and SIV) that report back CL monitoring values for power supply, CPU temp but a shareware tool like Aida64 does not?

    As I don't understand how difficult it is to implement, is there a specific reason why A64 does not have this functionality yet some free tools do?

     

    I hope it gets implements as I strongly believe that all the disgruntled corsair link users would much prefer to not use CL software and rely on Aida64 instead.

     

  12. Thank you for the feedback. The sensor module was disabled under VMware, because some of the motherboard sensor modules caused slowdowns and lockups under VMware.  We simply disabled the whole sensor module, which caused the GPU sensor features to get disabled as well.  So far it didn't cause any issues for our users, but your special usage scenario called for a re-enablement of the non-motherboard sensor features ;)

     

    As for 3rd party apps, currently only Fraps is supported.  You can however export the values measured by AIDA64 to get processed by other applications (AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring / External Applications).

    I run a virtualized setup at home with vmware ESXi 5.1 hypervisor and a Quadro K6000 PCIe card passed through directly to a guest VM.

    I currently use MSI Afterburner to monitor the GPU temperatures because Aida64 does not detect the card.

    Is there any plans to support hypervisors such as vmware? I find it strange that afterburner works but aida64 doesnt.

  16. We don't know about Corsair C300 SSD family. Do you mean Crucial RealSSD C300? Or maybe you meant Corsair Performance 3 Series?

    Either way, if the SSD has a SandForce controller, then the controller itself does support temperature monitoring. But it still requires hardware implementation and firmware support. AIDA64 itself supports temperature readout on any SSDs, but most SSDs simply don't implement temperature monitoring in their hardware or firmware.

    Ah, I meant Crucial, sorry. Maybe they will add temp monitoring to newer f/w releases...
