  1. Or you could make the items rotatable in the editor itself, so they are rotated before they are rendered to JPEG (if that makes any sense) Some items already are (bars), It is mostly the text items that need to be rotated. I'm asking this because I have this mod in mind: the screen is almost exactly 6 5.25" slots high and wide enough to fit into 5.25". I just need to make a custom frame for the display and the PCB to fit it onto the front of the case It can be rotated using frame manager. Too bad it breaks Aero.
  2. Is there any chance of implementing a feature to use the frames in portrait mode?
  3. Connecting the frame to another USB port motherboard made Windows pull the old Samsung drivers back. Quick fix, old drivers were deleted permanently. Performance of the frame has increased a lot compared to when connected to a USB hub. Another issue I have is the frame not turning off but displaying a black screen when connected to USB and Aida64 is not active or the PC is turned off. Pulling the plug doesn't work as the frame is also battery powered. I even tried programming the frame to turn itself off at a given time. It does not work while connected to USB. So the only way for now is to manually turn the frame on and off. I don't know if the buttons on the frame are supposed to switch pages in Aida64, but that does not work. Not an issue as I can fit all of the info I need onto the frame. Running on Win7 x64 SP1, the frame has the latest firmware already installed, using LibUSB drivers.
  4. Thank you. It's working for now and more fluidly than with the previous driver. I might have to play with the compression level and/or connect the frame directly to the motherboard and get a better cable for it. Latest BETA did not wreck anything and I did not enable the keep alive packet. Let's see if it disconnects during the day. Now you could put that link onto the first post in this topic and tell people to install this driver when prompted and avoid installing Frame Manager completely. I understand a lot of these frames are EOL devices and Samsung does not give a damn about them, nor do they offer the latest driver for them on their pages. When I looked for frame manager for the 105P the first I found on the Samsung page did not support Win x64 at all. It was by digging through this topic that I found that I should download FrameManager_Vista_64bit_V2.00.exe so putting a link to that onto the first post in this topic would also help reduce the mess, or you could just extract the driver software from the installation and offer both drivers for people to try out.
  5. No, I got the frame today and I have the latest BETA and the thing just dies at random and it works after resetting AIDA 64 a few times. And, no. I dont have the libusb driver. It says FrameManager Display adapter in device manager. BTW: I know what a usblib driver looks like. I have one for my Alphacool display. So damnit, if you CLAIM the frames do WORK with your SOFTWARE which I BOUGHT then keep the damn topic alive. Put all the info into the first post: here is the driver, here is this, here is that, do this, and do that to make it work. All I see is 5-6 pages of damn issues to read through and in the end maybe get lucky if ONE of the frames specified in the first post works. That is just lame from your side to claim that something is SUPPORTED and then well... 5 pages of people testing the frames and failing at making it work.
  6. Well, I spoke too soon. The 105P turns itself off after a while if the LCD editor is not open. What can I do to fix this? I have the latest BETA installed.
  7. 105P is working and it is a huge display. I had the issue where Frame Manager was disabling Aero. Uninstalled it and now everything is fine.
  8. Could you add a feature to move objects on the LCD display by 1, 5, 10 or "x" pixels for example. Here is an example of what I have in mind: You see under the arrows there is an option to move by 1, 5, 10 pixels. I think it would make editing a display a lot easier.
  9. Has anyone tested the 105P frame yet?
  10. Thanks for the info. I guess the display will work for me. I dont really need any graphics, just temperature values and I guess it will look nice in those 3.5" bays which are useless anyway. The software doesnt look any different than the mess Alphacool made with their devices before the developer mysteriously disappeared and their support forums shut down for a while. Let's just hope it does not happen with this one as well
  11. For that amount of money maybe I can take one of these: http://coldtearselectronics.wikispaces.com/USB+LCD+-+LCD+System+info and put it into the double 3.5" bays. It would work out nice as the two slots make 102 x 50 mm and the display including the PCB is 69 x 50 mm It costs 38$ including shipping which really is a bargain. Question is if this display is supported by Aida64 directly or do I need to use the supplied 3rd party software to get the info from Aida (LcdSysInfo http://www.coldtears-electronics.com/images/LCDsysinfo.zip) It is advertised as Aida64 / Everest compatible. Also there are two versions of the LCD: One is and one is not compatible with GOverlay. Which one to get?
  12. What is the cheapest option to get a USB controlled LCD dot matrix (240 x 64 pixels for example) display that fits a single 5.25" bay with no buttons or other gimmicks. I also do not need a 5.25" mounting frame since my case is fully transparent and I would like it to stay that way. So I just need a display on a PCB board that I can plug into an USB port and get data from Aida64 on it. I ask this here because I'm getting tired of searching and not finding what I need. Example pic:
  13. You can draw up anything you like on a 240 x 128 picture (I used Adobe Fireworks to do that) and then just put the values and text into place. It takes a bit of time and fiddling around with the Aida64 editor but it is worth it in the end. Here is the background without any values from Aida64: You can Save the image if you want to use it. First thing you need to do in the editor is choose "Image" and browse for where you saved this picture. Then you can add values and text and put them into place using the arrows in the editor. I used Histogram type graphs for CPU / VGA / NIC Download and Upload rate (note that they cannot be smaller than 10 x 10 pixels) The rest is just Static Labels and Simple Sensor Items.
  14. Thanks a lot for making this possible Finally my Display is useful again
  15. Nice work, altho I can't use features like Winamp which were available in the original software. I suggest to all to get some kind of image editing software and doodle up how you want the lcd to look and then just put the values in place. Here's what I've been using with alphaLCD: And what it actually looks like: Hope this helps
  16. Thanks a lot for doing this
  17. I guess noone interrested in making this work and the solution i gave is fairly simple. Shame
  18. I know this is an old topic but the solution could be simple: Since Aida64 is essentially the same application as Everest and since there is no way to obtain the source files for the alphacool applications/plugins etc. why not add an option in "AIDA64 / Preferences / External applications" saying "Report as Everest_SensorValues to shared memory" or "Make values AlphaLCD Compatible" or something similar. AlphaLCD is getting data from everest up to version 5.50. so my guess is that would do the trick.
