ASUS Prime X370-Pro - Chassis fan RPM monitoring work at startup, then after a few minutes stops.

I am a new AIDA64 user, and just got my panel setup and working. However I've noticed an odd problem: a few minutes after AIDA64 startup, my fans, which are connected directly to the motherboard headers, will suddenly spin up to 100% speed even when the system is sitting at idle. I've been using this motherboard since 2017 when it was released and this never happened before. I also noticed that the fan speed monitoring will also stop working (0 RPM reported) on the lcd panel at the same time. This phenomenon never happened before I installed AIDA64, and will ONLY happen when I start up AIDA64 (after a delay of 10 - 15 minutes).

When this happens, the only way to restore normal fan operation is to shut the system down and then turn it back on. Restarts won't work. It looks like AIDA64 is somehow interfering with the BIOS function. I haven't seen this with other monitoring apps (like HW Monitor).

ISA dump below. This was taken while fan monitoring is NOT working. If a before/after comparison is needed, I can get an ISA dump while things are working properly before the issue is triggered.

Okay, so... this might have been a false alarm. I previously had been using hwinfo64 on this system, and ran the uninstaller before testing out aida64 because I'm a software QA tester by trade and am aware that conflicts can occur if multiple apps are fighting over the same resources. Anyway, apparently the uninstaller just removed the entry from the Programs and Features list but didn't actually take it off the system. I just found it still on the drive, and uninstalled it manually. I will test the issue further and return with the results. Apologies and thanks.

Yes, it sounded like a collision with another monitoring software.

Hello, I decided to check the characteristics of my iPhone (iPhone 13 Pro). I downloaded your application (Aida64) and showed me that all my characteristics are not known and that my phone was assembled in 1970. They also wrote that my iPhone 13 Pro is an iPhone 14.2, please tell me what to do?

Things worked well for a couple of days after I removed hwinfo, but the issue just occurred again -- fans spun up to max while system was idle and temps low. Oddly, though, it didn't last a long time before suddenly going back to normal -- a half hour or so. Another difference is that RPM sensing still works rather than dropping to a listed 0. I have scoured my system to double/triple/quadruple check there is no other monitor software on the system this time.

I have noticed one other odd issue. Occasionally, the water pump RPM sensor will just disappear from AIDA64. It's always detected at boot, but sometimes my panel will suddenly read 0 rpm and when I open aida and check the computer -> sensor heading, it's just no longer listed at all. A quick reboot will fix it.

I am working on getting before and after captures, if you would like to take a look  I can post them here when the issue next happens (of course, now that I want it to happen so i can get a dump, it won't happen). I am starting to think both issues may be a BIOS related bugs, but would like a second opinion if possible. Thanks again.

One further detail -- My motherboard temperature dropped to 12c... which isn't at all accurate. Something really weird is going on here...

Unless you have another hardware monitoring software installed (or any portions of e.g. Asus' own monitoring tool left behind), I suspect this is due to a BIOS bug.  Asus X370 and X470 motherboards use a unique & proprietary solution to provide access to sensor registers, and I personally always felt it was a shaky implementation.  The whole interface was quite buggy at the start, and I felt as if Asus' engineers had a hard time to make this work in a way to avoid any collisions with other BIOS layers.

Well, that's a shame; this board has been a tank for 5+ years. I can't justify buying a new board to fix an LCD panel. Oh well.

For what it's worth, ASUS software has never been on this system. I've had good experience with their hardware, but know not to trust their software. I've used CPUID's HWMonitor for years, and more recently HWInfo64, and neither of these have caused any issues at all. Are there any particular modules that I could disable under the stability section in preferences so I could possibly continue to have at least some function on my panel?
