ASUS crosshair viii hero - no temps or fan headers since BIOS update.

Recommended Posts

No motherboard/CPU sensor temps or fan headers showing in AIDA. PC is waterblocked CPU/VRM + GPU . Sensors were good w/ the out-of-the-box BIOS, but I am now 4 updates past that and am otherwise stable.

HWInfo and SIV64X both detect everything CPU/mobo-related that AIDA is missing.

Was hoping for more than network and drive monitoring on a 7" screen. Any help/advice is appreciated!

AIDA64 doesn't seem to be able to utilize its kernel driver to access sensor chips properly.  Check if you have administrator privileges provided to AIDA64.

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Properties > Security: I see all checks under "Allow" (Full control, Modify, Read & execute, Read, Write) but not "special permissions" which has no check at all, also all checks in the advanced settings. This would indicate appropriate admin privileges are granted, no?  Inherited from "C:\Users\...

In addition, I ran AIDA "as administrator" and have the same lack of sensors.

It means AIDA64 cannot load its kernel driver.  It is either missing (the file itself called KERNELD.X64) from the AIDA64 installation folder, or some other issue prevents it from loading the driver.  Try to reinstall AIDA64 v6.85, and restart Windows.

My apologies for the cross-post. I thought perhaps I had mis-posted originally as I see mostly screen and template discussion in this section of the forums.

I can see the kerneld.x64 file among 4 others similarly named in the program folder.

I followed your instructions: no change.

I then uninstalled/reinstalled/restarted OS: no change.
