Trial Version vs Extreme

Hello

I'm a couple of weeks into trialling AIDA64, and love the software, mainly for the custom sensor panel. The obvious restrictions in the trial is the ugly watermark and some sensor items showing as TRIAL on the panel. But what else, if anything, is missing ?

A few things I can't find (whether missing, or maybe I just can't find them!) are:

... Maximum CPU temperature for any given session

... Vertical Bars

... Data export as .csv

If it's OK with the group, I will add to this post as I think of anything else, to save cluttering up the forum

Thanks

The bits you can't find aren't limitations due to trial version, but there are quite a few other limitations scattered all around in AIDA64, e.g. benchmark results are also sometimes indicated as "TRIAL".

1) Maximum temperature can be obtained and recorded by using the Logging facility (AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring / Logging).

2) Vertical bars can be configured by using a bar width that's smaller than the bar height.  Quite easy if you know the trick :)

3) CSV output is also available in the Logging facility.

Hey Fiery, hope you're enjoying the weekend. Thanks for your response. There's nothing worse (in my opinion) than software trials that have removed/hidden features, as it defeats the purpose of getting to know a product before buying. With AIDA64, it's very obvious, with either watermarks added, or data values displaying as 'TRIAL'. That was a good development decision.

I'll spend some more time on looking at the data export features, as I cant immediately work it out. But its good to know that .csv is possible.

To clarify one of my earlier questions, can Max. temperatures be applied to the sensor panel ? This seems like a very important display value to have. Not interested in having to use HWinfo software as a separate install just for one single reading. I cant seem to find this as part of AIDA64's sensor item options.

Remember to regularly check and monitor your hardware temperatures, especially if you're overclocking or running demanding applications.

Absolutely. This is my first PC build, so the Quality Control rest in my shoulders. After countless stress testing runs, temps look to be pretty good. I don't think I've exceeded 85 degrees

Thanka so much for the detailed response, but following your steps, I cannot see any such options in the hardware monitor options. I've also checked the help files and that screen also doesn't show what you're suggesting.

My plan B for now is to created a 600px wide graph for CPU/GPU temps, and that takes about five minutes to cycle across the frame, so within that window of time, I can at least visualize any spikes. I've also overlaid it with a CPU utilization graph, so I can observe the impact of high processing load and the influence on temps.

Still, it would be great to have a "locked in" number of peak temps, so I'll keep digging around the software.
