Sas27 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Hi, I just wonder why AIDA does not show the temperature of SSD Controller? It shows only temperatures of memory chip and/or SSD PCB. On the other side, the controller temperature is normally a bit higher than memory module. Is that a possibility of future upgrade in new releases? Quote

Can you see the missing thermal reading using other tools like HD Sentinel or CrystalDiskInfo? Quote
Sas27 Posted November 21, 2025 Author Posted November 21, 2025 Yes, I have seen Controller temperatures on two SSDs: Samsung 990 Evo Plus and Silicon Power US75 using HWInfo tool. It shows three temperatures, instead of two ones in AIDA. I've monitored temperatures during CrystalDiskTest with both tools. AIDA showed only two the same temeratures while HWInfo showed three, one of which was much higher than two others. Especially Samsung, which is much "hotter" than SPCC. Obviously this is Controller temperature. Quote

Fiery Posted November 23, 2025 Posted November 23, 2025 AIDA64 doesn't show all 3 temperatures because -- as you can see -- two of them indicate the same reading all the time. So AIDA64 would pick the 2 temperatures out of the 3 that are not identical. Quote
Sas27 Posted December 4, 2025 Author Posted December 4, 2025 There is a good reason for program upgrade in the next releases, isn't it? 1 Quote

So AIDA64 would pick the 2 temperatures out of the 3 that are not identical. I'm seeing the same thing on all four of my Samsung SSD's. There are two options in the sensor panel for the SSD's, but it's only the two identical numbers to choose from. So it seems AIDA64 is not actually picking the 2 temperatures out of the 3 that are not identical. In this screen shot I've highlighted the sensor readings from HWiNFO. The two temperature options you get in AIDA64 are the 1st and 3rd options shown in HWiNFO. I was able to verify this on my 'C' drive as you can see in this case the third number is actually different. When selecting the second (#2) sensor from AIDA64 it's actually showing the 42° of the third sensor in HWiNFO. It would be great to be able to see what's typically the hottest reading from my SSD's. According to Gemini, the second number is the controller temp: Gemini - "HWiNFO typically displays three distinct temperature sensors for Samsung NVMe SSDs (like the 970/980/990 Pro) to monitor different components: Drive Temperature (NAND/General), Drive Temperature 2 (Controller), and sometimes a 3rd sensor (often related to another component or a specific NAND zone). The controller (usually Temp 2) generally runs much hotter than the NAND flash." Quote
