AIDA 64 Suspected to cause Sound crackle/pop white noise explosions

Hello all,

I am using AIDA 64 for a custom sensor panel on an ASUS Ryujin III  cooler display. My PC is maximus hero z790, Intel I9 14900k, (2x48gb) 24Gbp/s DR Hynix m die RAM. 

Its an intermittent issue that gradually gets worse over the course of a single boot session and goes away after a reboot. After about a day or so the sound crackles and pops and gets worse until there's these periods of white noise static explosions that are very loud.  

I suspect AIDA 64 to be the cause. Because I ran the computer without AIDA 64 at boot and the problem did not reoccur for several days when it would normally occur within about 1 day. I will be doing more testing to repeat and confirm this.  Because of the nature of the problem this testing will take a long time. 

Using WPR/WPA, I documented a strong correlation between long USBXHCI.SYS latency and duration of AIDA 64 session. As the session duration continues over the course of a day or so the max latency values climb from 0.1 ms to 30 ms.  Closing AIDA 64, or closing AIDA 64 and reopening it reliably returns latency value back down, however the sound issue does not reliability go away.

I found the minimum number of things checked for my sensor panel to work, wondering if that would improve latency ?  Unchecking all the things within my current session did not stop the subtle crackle pop noise that is still creeping in. I am on a fresh boot now using this arrangement. I also enabled MSI for my sound controllers.

Can you please check if the issue happens with AIDA64 v8.20 as well?  We suspect this could be caused by the USB-C PD monitoring module of AIDA64 that was not yet supported by the old v8.20 release of AIDA64.

Thanks for your reply.  I request you keep this thread open indefinitely as this interment problem is taking basically a whole week for one iteration at this point. 

My current version is AIDA 64 Extreme v7.70.7503 and I am using the license that came with my Asus Products maybe it came with the Ryujin III or the z790 motherboard?  If I update, will my license still work? DO I need to backup my sensor panel files? 

Current test results UPDATE: 

I am still in my same boot session since Friday Sept 4th !!

It is now Sept 8th and the sound crackle symptoms have only just begun to become noticeable and the USBXHCI.SYS max latency has now climbed to 13ms. 

Before unchecking all the boxes (I also increased poling period from 1s to 1.5s which may also be a factor), my problem would reliably deteriorate to more extreme levels with white noise explosions with in 1 day or so with max latency values 28+ms.

So, based on the current session the symptoms have improved a lot however it looks like things are still deteriorating with session length but at a slower rate. However this is a sample size of ONE and it is now taking 5 days to get one test result. so please keep this thread open . 

For now I am going to continue the current session to confirm continued deterioration.
