Some benchmarks results are much lower than expected

Hello

 

I am running Aida64Engineer 4.60.3100 on Windows8.1 Pro x64.

my PC Spec is:

CPU:               AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition 955, 3200 MHz (16 x 200)

Motherboard:  Asus M4A78T-E (AMD 790GX, AMD K10)

Memory:         8 GB DDR3-1333         

 

I run all Aida`s benchmarks and compare my computer`s result with a computer with similar CPU that is exists on that benchmark`s list.

In some benchmarks , I got very lower results:

 

CPU Queen :     (my Computer): 2487       (4x Phenom II X4 Black 940): 21896

 

FPU VP8:          (my Computer): 721         (4x Phenom II X4 Black 940): 3294

 

Memory Read:   (my Computer): 3174 MB/s     (4x Phenom II X4 Black 940  Ganged Dual DDR2-800):   10112 MB/s

Memory Write:   (my Computer): 2301 MB/s     (4x Phenom II X4 Black 940  Ganged Dual DDR2-800):    7115 MB/s

Memory Copy:   (my Computer): 3533 MB/s     (4x Phenom II X4 Black 940  Ganged Dual DDR2-800):   9671 MB/s

 

On other 8 benchmarks , I got expected results.

 

as you see , my result is about 1/4 to 1/10 of a computer with similar CPU.

What is the problem with my computer?

Are you sure you've got all cores of your CPU enabled, and accessible by Windows and AIDA64? We can verify that if you could post a CPUID & MSR Dump. Right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> CPU Debug --> CPUID & MSR Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic.

Yes , as far as I know all cores are enabled.

I finally pin down the problem to AMD SATA driver.

I found it when I reset my computer BIOS to default and see the problem had solved , and back my setting one by one , until I change the SATA type back to AHCI ,and see the problem had backed again.

So I update the AMD SATA controller by Windows Update and the problem get fixed. :)  amazing.

 

I had installed a newer driver which I had found manually in AMD driver package (14-4-win7-win8-win8.1-32-64-sb.exe).
