Fyew-jit-tiv
Hi Fiery, A few things that are not correct with Aida64 and Gigabyte Assassin. 1. System Fan Is Missing. 2. Fan #2 is missing. 3. Cpu Fan is reading wrong RPM. 4. Fans #1& 3 are the wrong way around. I doing more tests to check that Aida64 is showing other sensor readings correctly. Fiery
1) Please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Sensor Debug --> ISA Sensor Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic. 2) Then right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Sensor Debug --> SMBus Dump (Full). Copy-paste the full results into this topic. 3) Also copy-paste the full content of the Computer / Sensor page of AIDA64 into this topic. 4) If it's possible, please list all cooling fans as they are displayed in the BIOS Setup, including their RPM speed. Thanks, Fiery

Fyew-jit-tiv
Will get back to you in the next 10mins on what readings should be.. I know this board has a problem with fan sensor #1 and not showing the rpm. Have sent a request to gigabyte to have a look at this. Talk in 10.. Thank
Fyew-jit-tiv
These are ruff estimates on rpms from bios. Cpu_Fan = 4500rpm / CPU PUMP Sys_Fan = 1200rpm+ / 120mm rear exhaust Fan_#1 = 700rpm / 200mm Side panel fan Fan_#2 = 700rpm / 200mm front panel intake Fan_#3 = 4500rpm / GPU Pump Some of these senors are the wrong way around too and fan#1 has no current reading on rpm senor in bios which im thinking is a bug in the bios as the fan is working but no sensor info. Let me know if there is any other info you need. Regards
Fiery
Thank you for the dumps. We're not 100% sure about the fans, since even after analyzing the dumps we cannot find the "Sys_Fan" anywhere. Apparently Gigabyte's own software and ACPI interface cannot read it either. We may need to wait for a new BIOS update to make that work. However, we've fixed the rest of the fans, so please upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme Edition available at: http://www.aida64.com/downloads/aida64extremebuild1327sv6wdcm3nxzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. Let me know how it works. Thanks, Fiery
Fyew-jit-tiv
Hi Fiery, Just downloaded, Will test now and pass back my feedback. That was a quick fix too.. Im impressed.!
Fyew-jit-tiv
Hi Fiery, I just took a screen shot of Gigabytes easy tune.. Easy tune can see the sys_fan and controll it with no problems. which i assume is being read by gigabytes Acpi. Let me know your thoughts. Fyew-jit-tiv
update.... Aida is seeing Sys_Fan.. Its fan_#1 thats not being seen... What you have as fan#1 should be fan#2.. thanks
Fyew-jit-tiv
Hi Fiery, Another thing i just noticed.. when Cpu is @ idle i get temps @ 33c which is about 10c high. But when i run Aidia stress test im cpu only jumps to 38-39c.. 5c difference under full load is not right. Please advise.. Regards Seems Aida is using more than normal CPU cycles too.. See pic.. With Aida running and with out Aida running
Fiery
About the fans: please create a screen shot that shows all fan RPM readings in EasyTune6 and AIDA64 Sensor page right next to each other, so we can compare the values "head-to-head". About the CPU temperature: I'm not sure what difference do you mean. If you compared the "CPU" temperature against the core temperatures, then I advise you not to do so, because those temperatures are measured in a very different way, and so they're not comparable to each other. Fyew-jit-tiv
Im talking about the overall CPU temp..Im NOT comparing the Core temps... In Aida im getting a CPU reading @ 31-33c.. When i stress test this reading only goes upto 38-40c. Will get back to you about the fan readings tomorrow.! Regards

Then please also compare the temperatures measured by AIDA64 against the temperatures measured by EasyTune6. It should provide you an insight into whether AIDA64 is at fault, or your motherboard measures temperatures a bit weirdly

Fiery
Where does Aida get it's tempreture readings from.? On the G1.Assassin AIDA64 reads temperatures as: Mobo = ITE IT8720 super I/O chip / temp 0 (register 0x29) CPU = ITE IT8720 super I/O chip / temp 1 (register 0x2A) Temp 2 = ITE IT8720 super I/O chip / temp 2 (register 0x2B) Temp 1 = Winbond W83L786 sensor chip / temp 0 (register 0x25) Temp 3 = Winbond W83L786 sensor chip / temp 1 (register 0x26)

If thats the case then i now know why i have got such strange CPU readings.

No. That means AIDA64 takes the readings directly from the onboard sensor chips, using low-level port I/O. On your motherboard AIDA64 doesn't access the BIOS for sensor readings at all.
