Wrong fan speeds for CPU + GPU on Notebook Asus ROG G751JT

I recently got a new Asus ROG G751JT with an Intel Core i7 4720HQ and a GPU Nvidia 970M. I have also installed Aida64 in the latest beta-version. This version always shows a GPU fan speed of 100% and a CPU fan speed between 2300rpm and 3000rpm. I think both values are not correct, because I tried around with the software notebook-fan-control, and completely stopped both fans, which reduced the noise significantly, but Aida still showed 100% GPU fanspeed and 2300rpm CPU fanspeed. Can you have a look at this?

 

I also think, that the temps for CPU and GPU are a little bit too high, but Iam not too sure with this.

In order to let us dig deeper (investigate this issue), please send us a few debug dumps of your system:

1) Please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Sensor Debug --> ISA Sensor Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic.

2) Then right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Sensor Debug --> Embedded Controller Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic.

3) Also right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Video Debug --> nVIDIA GPU Registers. Copy-paste the full results into this topic.

If you're running Windows 10, you may have to enable the status bar first, in AIDA64 / main menu / View.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the OS. It is Windows 8.1 with all patches installed. Except for the Windows 10 patch ;-)

Thank you. The CPU fan RPM is read incorrectly because of a BIOS bug. We've checked, but there's no different method in the ACPI BIOS to read fan RPM on your system, so we cannot do anything at this time. Unless of course Asus manages to fix the BIOS of your notebook. But I don't think such a minor issue is something they would deal with :(

As for the GPU, its fan is not controller by the GPU itself, that's why the GPU fan duty cycle is fixed at 100% in AIDA64. We will remove that unnecessary reading in the next AIDA64 beta update.
