LPDDR4X RAM Detection

Recommended Posts

This is with the new HP Spectre x360 13 (Ice Lake model, AW000 series).

It comes with 16 GB of LPDDR4X RAM running at 3733. An HP utility (see attached) shows the RAM info, but AIDA64 does not - SPD area is empty.

Can you add support for LPDDR4X RAM?

LPDDR4X RAM is BGA, and has no SPD chip attached to it.  The memory information comes from DMI, and you can check it out on the Computer / DMI page in AIDA64.

Yes you are right, they are there.

Type says "LPDDR4" though - shouldn't it technically display LPDDR4X or is this something not detectable?

SMBIOS specification doesn't define LPDDR4X, but only LPDDR4.  DMI tables are filled in during the bootup process by the BIOS.
