Squall Leonhart
I've been looking through Aida, and can't seem to see the current DMA setting on each drive.
Fiery
We've implemented that on the Storage / Windows Storage page in the following new AIDA64 beta release: http://www.aida64.co...61g6r3qtbpklzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. However, the new feature will only work under Windows 2000, XP and 2003. We haven't yet found a way to detect the same properties under Vista and Win7. We'll work more on it after the next AIDA64 stable release. Thanks, Fiery
Squall Leonhart
HDDScan is able to show the selected and supported modes, so there must be a way. Maybe the drive itself knows which mode its in.
Fiery
We've added the supported and active DMA modes information to the Storage / ATA page in the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme Edition available at: http://www.aida64.com/downloads/aida64extremebuild1714gcn7wyrhdzzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. Squall Leonhart
Something strange with AIDA64's support of this. It seems aida64 lacks the active udma field on some drives declaring them to be running in MWDMA 0 or 2, meanwhile HDD Scan and HD Tune both agree that the current active mode is UDMA6 for those drives, and buffered read tests come back as expected. Squall Leonhart
Interestingly enough, the fields are now visible, seems that this information is not presented by hotplugged drives?

I don't know... It depends on the information reported in the ATA ID block..
