I’ve been following along, but it’s very confusing to me. @Fiery @BHSY, @Surjeet, I opened the sensorpanel_default.spzip file and the images are sized at 896x896 pixels with a resolution of 288. To ensure all scales work correctly without errors, do we need to create the gauges at this resolution?

For now, I am sticking to 100% display scale and keeping the images normally! However, resizing to the double resolution could be the future demand/requirements as I agree to Fiery that nowadays 4k monitors are normally with everyone !

    7 hours ago, BHSY said:

I'm not sure which images you're referring to but for me, if I create an image, I will not change the default size and resolution. This will make the file size bigger.

Let's say I'm currently using a 1080p monitor with a 100% display scale and I created an image size of 200x200, 75 dpi for my 1920x515 sensor monitor. I have also input the image 'Resize' as 200x200 in the Modify Item.

Now I've upgraded to a 4k/2160p monitor with a display scale of 150%, and AIDA64 enlarged the image size. The image might look a bit blurry on a 150% display scale but if I shift the sensor panel to my 1920x515, which is 100% display scale, it will look normal and perfect. For me, there is no need to increase the default image size and resolution and the file size won't be so huge either.

I hope you understand what I have mentioned.

Thank you for the explanation. I agree that bigger resolution will attract more size for the panel and further more saving time. For now, we may stick to 100% the way we are doing. However, we know what needs to be done if any requirement comes for higher resolution specs!!

We've fixed both issues in the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme available at:

    https://www.aida64.com/downloads/latesta64xebeta

WOW, Once again what a fast turnaround!! 😍

I confirm that the issue is resolved and in addition, now we can see custom gauge icons clearly too!!

    Thank you!!!!!

On a side-note, all creators have posted their reply with their preferences in this forum. We are just curious to know if we will have something interesting coming 🙂

It's best if you backup your original settings before using scaling.  This feature was implemented to ease the migration from the old (v7.xx) AIDA64 to the next-generation AIDA64 (v7.99 and eventually v8.xx).  It should be used only once, when you experience the shrinking issue after migrating to the new AIDA64.  Once you applied it once, you should be good to go.

As for going back to 100%, it cannot work as a scaling-back, since rounding errors would cause one-pixel discrepancies.  An undo feature would work of course, but since this is whole scaling thing should be used once -- when you switch from the old to the new AIDA64 --, we aren't keen on investing too much efforts into it.

    That's a valuable point - Thank you!

I see. I understand now. I just tried and it works. Thank you for your explanation.

Thank you for raising this. I did not test this but will do the soon :)

One thing that I noticed was: In Scaling, we can upscale to 125%, 150%, 175% and 200%; however, no option to come back to original 100% in the menu.

I think that option should be there! What you suggest?

Perfect, thanks for the update! Glad to hear you were able to identify the bug. Even if it’s just visual, it’s good to know the internal functionality is working correctly. Looking forward to the fix — thanks for the continued effort! 😊

Thank you @COSTAJUNIOR for bringing this up. I also faced the same issue. However, good to know that even with the Name-Cut, the functionality was not hampered. Custom gauges worked as per the images added.

Funnily enough, this one seems to be a compiler bug that we cannot fix on our end.  Apparently there's a 78 character limitation on the caption of the very first item in popup menus.  What we can do is add a header to the popup menu as a workaround.  We will also report the compiler bug to Embarcadero.

Thank you for addressing this and we will love to see how the workaround = popup menu is implemented!! Thank you once again!

We can start with a basic HEX code input panel and gradually improve it to fulfill all your needs.

    @BHSY @COSTAJUNIOR @JariKoi

Guys, please chime in: if we started to design a brand new colour picker dialog, what would you like to see on it?  Which colour picker dialog do you find ideal to use? (e.g. the one of MS Word, MS Paint, etc)

Thank you for your consideration and response!! This would be Awesome!!

I would vote for MS Paint one as shown in the picture:

I will wait and would love to hear from our great creators: 😍 @BHSY, @COSTAJUNIOR @JariKoi 😍

Sadly that panel is managed by Windows itself, so we cannot alter its behavior.  We would have to develop the whole panel from scratch which would be quite a task.  Instead of that, how about unlocking the HEX color codes input by right-clicking on the colour boxes?

Thank you! Yes, you have the right point regarding Windows.

    Two things:

    1. When I checked Windows Word ad Windows Paint, the Hex code was there:

    image.png.24f5cb8f836c5f195517e10323c08255.pngimage.png.4f4b1a166381c14f84cb3ecb9dc23bf0.png

May be Sensor Panel Manager use other technique which is different from above!

    2. When you say "unlocking the HEX color codes input by right-clicking on the colour boxes", did you mean that we can provide Hex code which will be then used as output?

If we can provide HEX code by any mean to get the respective color, it will work. If that is not possible, nothing to worry :) ................we respect and understand!

OK, Just how do you get a file called preview.jpg in the zip file. Can it be done in the sensor panel manager?

Great idea by the way. just got a lot of panel files to convert.

Yes, please do it in Sensor Panel Manager:

Please add "Preview.jpg" that you want to see as thumbnail as the first item (top-most) in the sensor panel manager, hide it, export the SPZIP, and this preview image will show up perfectly when importing.

  10. 2 hours ago, Fiery said:

Showing the preview at export has been implemented in the latest AIDA64 beta update available at:

    https://www.aida64.com/downloads/latesta64xebeta

I just noticed the new feature - what an incredibly fast turnaround! I had only just taken a small nap, and when I woke up, it's already live. Truly impressive work! 😍

That said, we do have another request for your kind consideration. It seems we're getting a bit ambitious and GREEDY with our ideas day by day! 😄

Please review and let us know if this is doable and possible?

  11. Hi AIDA Team, currently we only have RGB colour selection in the Sensor Panel manager where we can add numbers only:

    image.png.5baa36a782dc14f3cf488e9eafda7f06.png

Would it be possible to add support for HEX color codes (e.g., #ff5733)? This could make the color selection process more intuitive and user-friendly.

Additionally, if the "Add to Custom Colors" feature could be enhanced with a smarter algorithm - perhaps one that adds each new custom color to the list sequentially, making it easier to manage and reuse saved colors.

Thank you for considering these suggestions!

    Thank you for your feedback!

    @BHSY @Surjeet

Meanwhile, another user proposed the idea of automatically placing a snapshot of the SensorPanel (in other words, a screenshot of the SensorPanel window) into the SPZIP package at export, named preview.png :) That way the whole preview generation and management would be completely automatic.

The drawback of such an automatic preview generation is that it would increase the SPZIP output file size.

    What do you guys think?

I agree that will increase the size. However, at the same time, may we have option whether to include the screenshot process or not:

    1. If selected yes, Preview.jpg screenshot to be taken and placed inside SPZIP

    2. If selected No, screenshot process should not run and simply SPZIP file should be saved

    1 hour ago, Fiery said:

    Right now you gotta either:

    a) Place the preview.png on your SensorPanel layout as a hidden image

    ...or...

    b) After exporting the layout into a SPZIP package, you gotta manually add the preview.png file to your SPZIP package using a ZIP archive tool

So either way, it's a manual process.  And if you import the SPZIP back, alter it, and export it again, the layout may become incompatible with the previously bundled preview.png (which is only retained if you go option "a" anyway).

The whole proposed idea is about making that process hassle-free by automatically generating the preview.png image file as a screenshot of the SensorPanel, and placing it automatically in the SPZIP package at export.

I tested both a and b : BOTH worked for me!

    Screenshot-2025-06-02-084901.png

For a this is I did: I added "Preview.jpg" as the first , top-most item in the sensor panel manager and hide it. After that I exported the SPZIP file and the preview file was seen when I imported this SPZIP file.

Further, I made changes to the panel and again exported the SPZIP , overwrite the previous file (I did not make any changes to the preview file added earlier) and everything worked for me as earlier!

You need to make sure a file named preview.png or preview.jpg gets into the SPZIP package. It can be a hidden image on your layout with the required filename, or after creating the SPZIP file using the Export feature on the SensorPanel Manager you can open the created SPZIP file (with a tool that can alter ZIP archives) and place the file manually there.

    Thank you. Got the answer.

Waiting for this feature to be implemented at the earliest !!

  14. 8 hours ago, Fiery said:

    Hi Guys,

We're thinking of showing a preview image when you try to import an SPZIP format SensorPanel layout.  So below the question "Are you sure you want to overwrite your existing SensorPanel settings?" in the same dialog it would show you the layout thumbnail.

If you like the idea, let us know if the filenames preview.jpg and preview.png for the preview image would be suitable for you.  So in case AIDA64 finds an image placed in your SPZIP archive named preview.jpg or preview.png it will not use it for the layout but just as a preview image shown at import.

I also support this idea of showing a preview image. This will be a great feature!

I just want to ask a question: Do we need to save the Preview image or will Sensor Panel Manager save the preview image inside SPZIP when saving/exporting?

Thank you for your feedback.  We definitely don't wanna remove the keyboard navigation, especially because we're investing more and more energy into improving the accessibility aspects of AIDA64.

Right-click context menu is coming your way in the next build ;)  Related to that: do you guys think we should do away with the normal click (left-click) behavior and display the context menu with left click too?  It would mean that you couldn't cycle through the various strides, but instead would always have to use the drop-down menu to select the stride.

The right-click approach is more robust and intuitive!
I strongly support adding a right-click menu to select the pixel stride - it's cleaner and more user-friendly.

Additionally, I also vote for showing the pixel stride menu/drop-down even on left-click, so users have flexible and consistent access to the setting.

We've added SensorPanel grid in the latest AIDA64 beta build:

    https://www.aida64.com/downloads/latesta64xebeta

Let us know how it works for you ;)

Wow, I updated to the latest build and its working PERFECTLY!! You guys Rock!!

Now as everything is working and all the great ideas are implemented, can we tweak this setting a bit. Can we add two sections (as lot of space is available):

    1 section handles 1 px > 5 px > 10 px > 20 px like earlier

    And

    2nd section handles  50 px > 100 px > 200 px like shown below

    image.jpeg.d3c7c25f541ed884a981ec56c2935213.jpeg

This way we will have control over small and larger placements and this will also address the following concern raised by @Loyd

Sorry for so many requests :) Please check and let us know if this request can be implemented!
