phlebiac
hi, while i had asus ai suite installed (de-installed it because of sudden reboots) i had an entry PCH Diode in aida64 now - after de-installing ai-suite - that entry is gone why is that? Fiery
Do you mean a voltage reading called "PCH Core" ? If yes, then please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Sensor Debug --> Embedded Controller Dump. Copy-paste the full resuls into this topic. Thanks, Fiery
phlebiac
i might give it another try but i just did a fresh re-install - after having massive problems with ram sticks (1 out of 4 appears to be faulty) so this might take some time because i am hoping that one stick was really the cause of all my problems that means at the moment i am in no way touching asus ai suite ... which i think was the source for the pch temperature to show up in aida ... because when i uninstalled asus ai suite and disabled all the remaining services the pch reading was gone and right now i have a clean installation without asus ai suite and have to wait a few days to see if everything runs stable ... then i'll make a backup and give ai suite another try just to see if i can get the pch temperature again and then i'll make that embedded controller dump
phlebiac
hi, no, i actually mean the "PCH Temperature" in hwinfo64 it is shown as "Intel PCH" here's the dump: --- ------[ AIDA64 v2.70.2200 ]------ ------[ Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 6.1.7601.17944 Service Pack 1 (64-bit) ]------ ------[ Motherboard Info ]------ Motherboard ID : 63-0100-000001-00101111-122211-Chipset$1APTC022_BIOS DATE: 10/05/12 11:01:06 VER: 13.09 Motherboard Model : Asus Maximus V Formula Motherboard Chipset : Intel Panther Point Z77, Intel Ivy Bridge DMI MB Manufacturer : ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Fiery
Thank you, but AIDA64 won't label any temperature readings as "PCH Temperature". It must be either "PCH" or "PCH Diode" inside the temperatures group. Can you please verify the actual label? I suspect it would be "PCH Diode". phlebiac
as i had problems with one of my 4 8GB ram sticks i reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64bit english several times and with the last installations i was not able to get the reading of pch or phc diode in aida64 again ... no matter what i tried ... i even installed ai suite because i thought maybe ai suite installs something that aida64 get or will use now i have a new installation with only the software installed that i really need, so no ai suite experimenting i have hwinfo64 installed and it shows: Intel PCH PCH Temperatur 43.0 °C (Current) and 5 mins ago i installed aida64 extreme edition (trial) and the only thing it shows is PCH Core which is a Voltage and not a Temperature in Preferences Stability i have all options activated except koolance and dimm support my mainboard: asus maximus v formula / thunderfx with windows 7 ultimate 64bit english so ... it would be nice if you could make aida64 show the pch diode temperature
Fiery
Please upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme Edition available at: http://www.aida64.co...15vk0gp7mfzyzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. Let me know if it helps. Thanks, Fiery
Thermaltake
I didn't wan't to open new topic for this so I wrote here. In older version of aida64 I didn't have that PCB Diode before and now when I install new aida64 2.80.2300 version I got it and it's 43C all the time even when I open my window, and it's cold outside all temps goes down except PCB Diode, what is that anyway PCB Diode, and why is it always 43C ? Fiery
PCH Diode is a temperature diode that is integrated in the motherboard chipset (also known as PCH for modern Intel platforms). Some motherboards have no such diode connected, and some other motherboards may have the diode improperly implemented. In the latter case the temperature readout may be stuck at a fixed value. If that's the case, just ignore the reading
uniq
What is PCH and why is it sayng 60 degrres on Celsius??? P.S.: Today I experienced the first Blue Screen in 2 years on this system... may it be related?
Fiery
PCH stands for Platform Controller Hub. It's the chipset of your motherboard. It is quite normal that a chipset is running at high temperatures, although for PCHs it may be a bit high indeed. Try to improve the cooling of your system case.
