you need to have something running that eats up FPS - mine is at 0 until I run a game or benchmark

I use an 8.8-inch screen with a resolution of 1920*480, which is very suitable for this job.

Wow very clean! Thank you for this. Do you mind pointing me to where you got the controller board? I assume it's an HDMI to MIPI converter?

For anyone interested, I believe the panel is a 8.8" HannStar IPS  (HSD088IPW1-A00).
