ASUS AI-Suite sensors missing (Asus Maximus VIII Impact)

Hi,

I'm a new user running a trial version of Extreme 5.60.3700.  The issue is that Computer > Sensors does not show the mobos fans and temps

My system has a ASUS ROG Impact VIII + Win10 x64 + AI Suite 3 1.01.28

Running a debug does contain an Asus ATKEX section with all sensors populated.  AI Suite is enabled in the Stability prefs

I did see another thread mentioning not to rename the fans in AI Suite.  They were renamed but I've cleared the custom labels

So what am I doing wrong? thanks

I've uninstalled .3700, rebooted and run the portable beta but the issue is the same

If relevant, the ATKEX details in the debug are duplicated

------[ Asus ATKEX ]------
CPU                     :   41.0 C
CPU                     :   41.0 C
EXT_Sensor1             : 42949642.9 C
EXT_Sensor1             : 42949642.9 C
etc

Please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Sensor Debug --> ISA Sensor Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic, or attach the results as a TXT file to your post. You may need to enable status bar in AIDA64 / main menu / View first.

Also please copy-paste the full content of the Computer / Sensor page into this topic, or create a screen shot of that page and attach it to your post.

Thanks,

Fiery

CPU and Chassis Fan are good.  Rarely 'Water Pump' is visible with a very high RPM between 1000-4500rpm, and more rarely a percentage is shown for the value

Temperature's #1, #2, #3, #4 are randomly visible, or disappear each refresh.  Sometimes all 4 are visible

It is strange if they are EXT_Sensor1,2,3 as there is no sensor attached and show 42949642.9 C in the debug, while the program shows a realistic temperature.  Also there is no Ext_Sensor4 on the mobo

Extension fan 1, 2, 3 are not visible at all

Note Ext Sensor1, 2, 3 & Ext fan 1, 2, 3 are on this asus extension card which came with the motherboard (no model number sorry..)

Logs and screenshot attached, though not from the same time

Its late at night and need to sleep, will be able to provide more feedback tomorrow

thanks

Thank you for your feedback. The mapping of misc temperatures on your board are:

Temperature #1 = T_Sensor1

Temperature #2 = EXT_Sensor1

Temperature #3 = EXT_Sensor2

Temperature #4 = EXT_Sensor3

I'm not sure why they show bogus values sometimes. The only issue I can think of that may cause that is a background process or service that concurrently monitors sensors. The most infamous of those is Asus AI Suite that is still not synchronized with 3rd party monitoring software like AIDA64, HWMonitor, SpeedFan, CoreTemp, HWiNFO, SIV, etc. While those listed software are all synchronized with each other to avoid such collisions due to concurrent sensor access.

As for the extension fans, I'm afraid those are only available via EC banked access. And switching EC banks is dangerous, since when a collision (with e.g. AI Suite) occurs during an EC bank switch operation, the system could lock up or the CPU might get overvolted :(
