Disappearing NVME Temperature Status

Hi

I have an odd issue with all versions of Aida64 up to the latest beta. I have a 950 pro nvme ssd and use aida64 to monitor the temperature.

On the face of it, this works fine, displays the correct temperature on the LCD panel etc. However, on completely random occasions, the line that displays the temp on my logitech LCD panel completely disappears and I have to go back in to the sensor preferences, choose the temperature sensor for the samsung nvme drive and click apply for it to show again. I am unable to reproduce the disappearing act so I'm not sure what's triggering it. The resolution despite being simple is annoying so curious whether it might be a bug?

Any ideas?

Please create an ATA Dump and also a SMART Dump before and after the issue happening. Maybe the issue is related to computer sleep state? E.g. when your computer comes back from sleep, the issue happens?

Defo not a sleep issue since my VM is on 24hrs and all sleep states except monitor is disabled. Funny as I type, it just happened again. The nvme temp disappeared from my logitech LCD panel, i went back in to preferences, LCD and re-selected the temperature sensor from the list, renamed it and clicked 'apply' now it's back. Very strange. Could it be due to the renaming of the sensor? It first appears in the list as Samsung 950 Pro NVME but I always change it to M.2 SSD Temp: afterwards. Thank you for the dumps. It's odd, you cannot see anything strange in there. Can you please check if the information on the Computer / Sensor page changes too? Or the one displayed on the Storage / SMART page? Also, if you have space on your Windows Desktop, it may be a good experiment to check what happens if you put the AIDA64 OSD Panel there, with the SSD temperature as an OSD item.

I'll try but the more I think about this, the more I reckon it has something to do with renaming the sensor and the default sensor name overwriting/deleting what I entered. I think this because every time I look at the sensor list, the nvme temperature is always present so I assume aida64 is not losing visibility of it just doing something odd after I rename it. BTW, all other sensors that I rename don't exhibit this issue.

Renaming shouldn't be a problem about any sensor items. What you can do however, is to backup your AIDA64.INI settings before the issue, then when the issue happens and you go to AIDA64 Preferences to readjust the sensors, just push the OK button on the Preferences (not to rename the sensor item to your preference), and check what happens. Also backup the AIDA64.INI after doing that. Then rename the sensor item, and do another backup of the AIDA64.INI file. It would be very interesting to see those 3 states of the AIDA64.INI file, and it may just reveal the root cause of the issue.

A quick update on this...

It seems to happen when I attach a VHD file and give it a volume say (V:\), the nvme status disappears. If I disconnect the VHD, then the nvme temp status re-appears in the lcd panel.
