In "Desktop Properties", I see:

      Font Resolution 96 dpi
      Pixel Width / Height 36 / 36
      Pixel Diagonal 51

What does these numbers mean? I only know that my display has pixel pitch 0.27 mm, but width, height and diagonal? And "Font Resolution" is the same value as "Pixel Density" in Monitor Properties.

Thank you,

LOGPIXELSY = Number of pixels per logical inch along the screen height.

But what is "logical inch"?

ASPECTX = Relative width of a device pixel used for line drawing.

Relative to what? And what is line drawing? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Box-drawing_character ?

Apparently these ASPECT numbers are not correct: http://www.masmforum.com/board/index.php?topic=8298.0

I'd like to understand what it means to create meaningful translation.

Best Regards,

Petr

I'm afraid I don't know the answers.  Some bits and pieces of Windows are quite mysterious, even to us :)  If you're unsure about the translation, then either leave the terms in English, or translate them directly, word by word.
