pepekg
Hello, after updating my GPU driver (Nvidia GT635m) temperature of GPU in Aida64 freeze in one value. After restart Aida, it dissappear completely. Now i cant choose temperature sensor for GPU, because its not in options. It dissppeared. I tried use actual version of Aida and restart computer but problem is still there.
Fiery
1) Please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Video Debug --> nVIDIA GPU Registers. Copy-paste the full results into this topic. 2) Also right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Video Debug --> nVIDIA SMBus Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic. Thanks, Fiery

Fiery
Thank you for the data. I suppose the issue is caused by the nVIDIA Optimus technology that completely switches off the GeForce GPU when the computer is not running a 3D scene (like a game). And when the GeForce GPU is "sleeping", AIDA64 and other software can only access the onboard IGP graphics provided by your Intel Ivy Bridge CPU. pepekg
Thank you for your answer, but i think its not this problem. Because few day ago Aida show the temperature of GPU (also when Ge Force "sleeping" and Intel Hd running). Sensor temperature disappear when i upgrade my GPU driver. And GPU sensor completely disappeared from Aida64 program options. Before that it was there no matter if my notebook runs on Geforce or Intel HD. And i discover one other problem- sensor of GPU voltage in program options shows value for cca 2 seconds and then disappeared and then show value again for 2 sec and disappeared again. And again and again. I think it shows voltage value when options refresh and then disappeared. Voltage value of battery and CPU are OK. P.S. sorry for my bad english
Fiery
Updating your video driver may well have caused the difference. I suppose the old driver didn't enable (didn't activate) the Optimus feature.
pepekg
My system used Optimus with old driver and now with new also using Optimus. But thank you for your response. I think i have to using Aida64 without GPU sensor. Maybe its going to be repaired with some patch or future new driver. Maybe i have to upgrade my Intel HD driver. This could be the problem. Maybe. sevgi
Nvidia GPU registers dump shows you the current value it is getting from your temperature sensor in real-time. Have you tried to run some 3D rendering for some time to wake the GPU up, make it work and then read the GPU registers dump again. That will clearly show you if the GPU is not reading the temperature properly or is just a bug in the new software version where it isn’t displaying the value that it reads correctly. Fiery
Since that September post, we've implemented an option in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Stability called Wake GPUs up at startup. It can be used to make the GPU (or GPUs) wake up at AIDA64 startup, and so get around the pecularities of nVIDIA Optimus technology.
