BHSY Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Hi @Fiery, I’ve been using the Image Resize function for my images and gauges, along with the upscale and downscale options. These features have been very helpful, especially when resizing from 2560×720 to 1920×515, though I still need to make some minor adjustments afterward. 👍 Would it be possible to add an option to manually input the scale percentage based on either width or height? For example, downsizing the height from 720 to 515 works out to about 71.5%, with the width resizing automatically to match. Having the ability to enter percentages directly, ideally with decimal support, but even whole numbers like 71% would be fine. It would make resizing much easier and more precise. I believe this feature may have been mentioned before on the forum, but I’d like to bring it up again. This would also be useful in cases such as downscaling from 1920×515 to 1920×480, where resizing by height first and then adjusting element spacing according to the panel’s width provides a smoother adjustment. I understand if this feature can’t be added at present or if it’s not practical to implement at the moment. Thank you! 1 1 Quote
Loyd Posted May 29 Posted May 29 I second this. to get the size I need 1600X1200 from a 1920X1080 first use 66% then 125% get me close 1584X891. Be really nice if I could use .833% 2 Quote
Surjeet Posted June 1 Posted June 1 I agree! Having point-level precision is always useful and would be a great improvement. 2 Quote
BHSY Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 (edited) As there’s been no response for over a month, I guess it is not possible at the moment. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Edited August 7 by BHSY Quote
POE Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Yea adding a forum for people to add their ideas to the software is useless if they wont do it Quote

The panel can be resized in one dimension at a time, either by length or by height, scaling up or down, and with a custom value I can set the percentage close to precision. Of course, both width and height will adjusted proportionally. I honestly didn’t expect this to be possible and had given up hope, so I’m truly grateful for the effort you and your team put into making it happen. 🥹 The 'Scale by' feature works wonderfully. Many thanks to you and your team for delivering such a valuable improvement. 🙏 Edited August 26 by BHSY 2 Quote
Loyd Posted August 25 Posted August 25 I second BHSY statement. Your programmers are outstanding. Now if they could only come up with a Linux verson! 3 Quote

WO WO WO!! 😲 What have you done, man?! 🔥 This new “Scale by” feature is AMAZING! The new “Scale by” feature is awesome! Finally, we can just enter the exact size we want instead of fighting with the dimensions. Seriously, THANK YOU to the whole team. What a great improvement! 🙏👏 2 Quote

What a great improvement! 🙏👏 I’m sorry if my earlier comments misled you. You can only adjust either the width or the height of the panel. For example, if I want to change the height of a 2560×720 panel to 1920×515, I would enter 71.52% in the Scale by… option, which produces a panel size of 1831×515. This way, instead of resizing by width, I can resize the panel by height. Edited August 26 by BHSY 1 1 Quote

Thank you for clarifying 🙏 and for the example - it makes sense now. 🔥 2 Quote
BHSY Posted Thursday at 04:27 PM Author Posted Thursday at 04:27 PM 1 hour ago, Loyd said: how did you arrive the percentage? Scaling Percentage = New Dimension ÷ Original Dimension × 100% If result < 100% → Downscale If result > 100% → Upscale (add “+” sign) Examples: Downscale by height: (515÷720)×100%=71.52% Downscale by width: (1920÷2560)×100%=75% Upscale by width: (2560÷1920)×100%=+133.33% Upscale by height: (720÷515)×100%=+139.80% Try to use 2 decimal places consistently for all % values. I hope you understand my explanation. Quote
Loyd Posted Thursday at 07:36 PM Posted Thursday at 07:36 PM yes I do. I use a similar system. on a spread sheet I put the height and width in one column height in the other column and use ratio computation to get the width. like that below (600X1920)/1024=1125, the ratio is 1920/1024=1.875 use that to change gauges, bar graphs and line graphs width 1024 1920 1.875 height 600 1125 Quote

You’re using the ratio to resize individual elements. That definitely works, but it takes a lot of time. With the new Scale by… feature, you can enter the downscale or upscale percentage of the panel height or width, and the whole sensor panel (and all its elements) will resize proportionally all at once. Saves you the hassle of adjusting each element's width and height individually. That formula (600 × 1920)÷1024=1125. I think you’re checking whether the scaled height stays close to the display height and confirming that both dimensions scale using the same ratio, so you can apply that ratio to elements’ width and height, right? Loyd Posted Friday at 02:09 AM Posted Friday at 02:09 AM have used the new scale and it does make things a lot easier but it still does not change every element in a skin. seems gauges do not change...Also by using this ratio is keeps the height and width the same proportions keeping any circler element round. You have a very nice way of stating what I was doing without me even knowing what I was doing. I just wanted a way to keep the v-h ration the same when either enlarged a 1020x600 to 1600X900 or reduced a 1920X1050 to 1600X??? Quote

Have you checked whether those elements have width and height values set in the resize option? If no values are entered, the scale feature cannot resize them. I have no issue resizing all my elements. As long as the elements have width and height values entered in the resize option, the new Scale by… feature will resize them proportionally; you don’t need to use a v‑h ratio manually. Any minor ± differences are negligible when you enter the percentage with two decimal places. At first, I wasn’t sure about your calculation; it took me a bit of time to work through and understand it. I’ve never used the ratio method myself; it's too tedious for me. My approach has always been to take the resized element dimensions directly from Illustrator. Quote

I do not have illustrator, I use paint when I must move the background around. I tried GIMP but it was too complicated, I still do not understand layers in paint. I cannot get it to do anything. I always wondered why some gauges would change and other not. Thanks for that. If one was to enter the element size wonder what would happen? say it is 400x400 if you put that in the resize what would happen. Guess I will try it out. I do not manually compute the ratio I use Excel. just plug in the values and there you go. Fun and games, love the AIDA64 skins and am looking forward to your next outstanding skin Loyd 1 Quote
