tistou77
Hello Is it possible to have (more) information (SMART) for SSD NVMe ? Thanks
Fiery
AIDA64 already provides a lot more SMART information on Intel NVMe SSDs than for classic SSDs What kind of information do you miss? Regards, Fiery
tistou77
With Samsung SM951 NVMe, I have no information (SSD is not listed) Thanks
Fiery
Samsung SM951-NVMe hasn't got a proper firmware at this time, and so it cannot report SMART attributes at all. Not even Samsung's own SSD companion software (Magician) supports it. Hopefully Samsung will soon roll out a new firmware to fix those issues. As soon as the drive gets the proper features in its firmware about SMART interrogation, it will start working with AIDA64 as well. If not, or if you will see any issues, please let us know, and we'll fix it up right away. BTW, the explained firmware deficiency of SM951-NVMe is why we promote the new AIDA64 feature as: "Autodetect information and SMART monitoring for Intel NVMe SSDs" As opposed to describing it as: "Autodetect information and SMART monitoring for NVMe SSDs"
tistou77
Ok thanks for your explanation. That should be good with the Samsung 950 Pro NVMe
Fiery
Ok thanks for your explanation. That should be good with the Samsung 950 Pro NVMe We'll see. BTW, have you seen any screen shots showing Magician running on 950 Pro, and showing full SMART attributes list? I haven't, yet, but I hope it doesn't mean the firmware is crippled on the 950 Pro as well...
tistou77
No I have not seen it, but I read that Samsung would update Magician for 950 Pro
Fiery
No I have not seen it, but I read that Samsung would update Magician for 950 Pro That's good news, but I suppose they will also bring a new firmware update, since without that Magician wouldn't work properly. I've heard rumours about 950 Pro having similar firmware deficiencies as SM951-NVMe, but without an actual AIDA64 user feedback I cannot confirm or deny that Fortunately all those issues can easily get fixed by Samsung, and I'm sure they will do their homework soon now. tistou77
Hello It's good for Samsung SM951 NVMe and the last beta of Aida64 (with Samsung driver)
tistou77
Hello Is not possible to have SMART with Microsoft NVMe driver ?
Fiery
Hello Is not possible to have SMART with Microsoft NVMe driver ? What's wrong with using Samsung NVMe drivers for Samsung NVMe SSDs?
tistou77
With Samsung SM951 and its drivers (and Windows 7), I have a USB key detection problem
Fiery
I see. With Samsung SM951 and its drivers (and Windows 7), I have a USB key detection problem Make sure to report that issue to Samsung. Sadly the built-in (default) Windows NVMe driver is very limited, so it's not possible to provide SMART information using that driver. xixou
Hi, Is there still no plan to implement a file data rate monitoring ?

xixou
Too bad , is that so hard to implement ?
Fiery
Too bad , is that so hard to implement ? With the smiley I've meant to indicate that it's something that's very close to getting implemented. In fact, it will be included in the next AIDA64 beta update due in a few days from now. You'll be able to monitor physical drive activity (%), read speed (MB/sec) and write speed (MB/sec) as well. Stay tuned
Fiery
The mentioned new AIDA64 beta update is available for download at: http://www.aida64.com/downloads/latesta64xebeta Please note that the Performance tab of Windows Task Manager seems to measure the read and write speeds not in the classic MB/s or GB/s measurement units. It uses a divisor of 1000 instead of 1024, and that leads to displaying higher values than AIDA64. We stick to using the classic divisor and classic interpretation of MB/s and GB/s. Also note that the current hardware monitor module of AIDA64 supports up to 10 disk drives when measuring disk activity. If you have more drives and would like us to expand the limit of 10 drives, let me know.

tistou77
Hi With the SSD Samsung NVMe, normally have to use the Samsung NVMe driver for have SMART information. But with Crystal Disk Info and Microsoft NVMe driver, some infos is available Possible to have it with Aida64 ? Thanks
Fiery
We'll check it out. Although, please note that for the optimum performance it's best to install Samsung's own NVMe driver for Samsung NVMe SSDs, and Intel's own NVMe driver for Intel NVMe SSDs.
