Please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Disk Debug --> ATA Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic.

Also right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Disk Debug --> Physical Drives Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic.

As for the buffer size issue, I'm afraid that's just a common issue about SATA drives with 32MB or bigger DRAM buffer. It's an issue with the ATA IDENTIFY block provided by the HDD firmware, so we cannot fix it from AIDA64.

Thanks,

Fiery

Aida64 1.50.1200

Storage

IDE Controller Standard AHCI 1.0 Serieller-ATA-Controller

IDE Controller Standard-Zweikanal-PCI-IDE-Controller

Disk Drive USB2.0 CardReader CF RW USB Device

Disk Drive USB2.0 CardReader Combo USB Device

Disk Drive WDC WD6400AARS-00Y5B1 ATA Device (596 GB, IDE)

Disk Drive WDC WD6400AARS-00Y5B1 ATA Device (596 GB, IDE)

Why does it show IDE (ATA) instead of SATA II ?

(in the Bios I set it to = AHCI )

Such mixups can occur when a hot-pluggable (usually USB) device is connected while running AIDA64. We tweaked a lot about hot-plug support in AIDA64 v1.50, so hopefully it will work better than previous versions :)

As for "ATA Device", that text is put there by Windows, and we have no control over that naming scheme. Windows uses "ATA Device" for both PATA and SATA drives.

The "IDE" tag is detected by AIDA64, and it means the drive is either PATA or SATA, but a more precise identification is not possible.
