I know we need to have a temperature sensor in the RAM (DDR3), how about main board? any specific main board can support the RAM temperature monitoring? please advise. Fiery Posted July 4, 2013 Share Posted July 4, 2013 Industry standard memory module temperature monitoring is called DIMM-TS (TS = Thermal Sensor). You can activate that feature in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Stability. You don't need anything else, it can be any motherboard or CPU, as long as your memory module does have a DIMMTS compliant thermal sensing diode. In case DIMM temperature(s) do not appear on the AIDA64 Sensor page after enabling that feature (and after restarting AIDA64), then please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Sensor Debug --> SMBus Dump (Full), and copy-paste the full results into this topic. Fiery Posted September 13, 2016 Share Posted September 13, 2016 Apparently Supermicro X8DAH motherboards use SMBus multiplexing that prevents AIDA64 from reading SPD memory information and DIMM TS thermal readings. We've implemented an experimental workaround for this issue in the latest AIDA64 beta update available at: https://www.aida64.com/downloads/latesta64xebeta Please note that the new workaround may cause system lockup or instability in case it doesn't do what we expect it to do. If it's possible, please submit a new SMBus Dump (Full) dump, as well as an ISA Sensor Dump. The latter would be necessary for us to check what's wrong with the other sensor readings. Try to enable DIMM thermal sensor support in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Stability, and restart AIDA64 to apply the changes. Extract and run. HWiNFO says I do not have Temperature Sensor. But, it displays DIMM temperatures. And, AIDA64 displays DIMM temperatures. Because, you don't want to Static Shock it! You can also use a thermometer.
