Darien Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Hello, For the last week or so I've been receiving 'Access violation' error messages from AIDA64, like the following: In addition, my PC (Windows 8.1, 2x Nvidia GTX 460 in SLi) is randomly freezing, forcing a hard-reset. I believe the two symptoms are related. Any help would be appreciated.
Fiery Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 If you have the option Enable CPU throttling measurement (in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring) enabled, then try to disable that option and see if it fixes the issues. Regards, Fiery
bonidinimon Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Thats interesting, I have the same Problem. Hope the fix will help, but an Update would be better
Darien Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Sorry, I only just saw this reply - I had 'follow topic' enabled, but wasn't getting any emails notifying me of posts... The option "Enable CPU throttling measurement" is already disabled, so that can't be the issue (unless I should try enabling it?)
Fiery Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 No, you shouldn't have that enabled, it may just make things worse Are you using AIDA64 Extreme v4.00.2700?
Darien Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 I was using the latest build when the issue appeared, I've now switched to the beta channel and am using v4.00.2726.
Fiery Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I was using the latest build when the issue appeared, I've now switched to the beta channel and am using v4.00.2726. Thank you. Please upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme available at: http://www.aida64.com/downloads/aida64extremebuild2731phyzl2fjwbzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. Let me know if it helps.
Darien Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Thanks Fiery, I'll let you know how it goes.
Darien Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 The issue is still occuring with the latest beta (4.00.2931)
Fiery Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 In case the crashes occur not just with AIDA64, but while running other software as well, then your system may have stability issues that you need to diagnose.
Darien Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 I haven't experienced a lockup or crash for a while, but the AIDA64 error messages persist.
Darien Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 An update - I am still receiving these error messages as of the latest build (4.00.2742 Beta)
Fiery Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 We've just fixed a few more issues that may explain the crashes on your system, so please upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme available at: http://www.aida64.com/downloads/aida64extremebuild2746bhv2s4qfjlzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. Let me know how it works.
Darien Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Upgrade and reboot were fine, but today I came home to this:
Darien Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Alright, so I've updated to the latest 4.00.2752 Beta the other day, and saw this when I booted this morning: Am I the only person experiencing these issues?
Dutch Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Am I the only person experiencing these issues I have experienced a different error since build "aida64extreme_build_2752" was installed yesterday. When I went to check the status of the "Enable CPU throttling measurement", I got it again when I clicked on "Preferences"... every time. After restarting Aida64 I was able to proceed and confirm that CPU Throttling was NOT selected. This may be totally coincidental, but I noticed the one .jpg file I use on my SensorPanel was not displayed. After restarting it was displayed and I did not receive an error when checking the CPU Throttle status. Edit: attachments deleted
Dutch Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Not sure if I should take this to a new thread, as the error is different from the OP. If so I will let Fiery move it. I just experienced the "Thread creation error: Not enough storage..." again, and again the picture file was not showing on the SensorPanel. The picture file is on a different drive than the Aida64 program files, but it is not a removable drive. I exited Aida64 and restarted and now the picture is on the SensorPanel. I can move the picture to the Aida64 directory... not sure if that makes a difference.
Dutch Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I just had the "Not enough Memory..." error again WITH the picture still displayed on the SensorPanel. I had moved the picture file to the same folder as the program file. Additionally, this time I am not able to start AIDA64 to exit, and the SensorPanel is not updating. I guess that means a system reboot. If I can locate the build prior to 2752 it will install it to see what happens.
Squall Leonhart Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 what drivers and mainboard related software do you have installed
Dutch Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I have an older MoBo (MSI X58 Pro-E) and I don't believe I installed additional software when I built the system. Driver list attached (It's .csv format for Excel, but I had to append .txt to upload here) Edit: attachments deleted

Darien Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Just to update: I'm still getting these Access Violation messages on the latest version of AIDS64 Extreme (4.20.2808 Beta). They almost always occur on login. Is there anything else I can provide to help in getting this fixed? It's driving me nuts.
Fiery Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I'm afraid we ran out of ideas, and none of our efforts to try reproducing the issue had any useful results. One thing you can try though is right-clicking on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> HWMon Modules, and disable all of the modules there. If it fixes it up, then try to enable them again, one by one, and try to find which one causes the issues.
olnorton Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I've started getting these error messages lately. I haven't installed any new hardware, or changed any bios settings & am still using v3.00.2500 I get them every morning from startup & can't access any part of the software unless I do a reboot (warm start) & then it all works fine without errors until next mornings cold boot. I have just now tried disabling all the HWMon Modules except SNB which it won't let me disable. But I'll have to wait for tomorrow mornings cold boot to see if it has an effect. Darien: Does doing a restart give you the errors?
Darien Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Darien: Does doing a restart give you the errors? Now that you mention it, no. I hardly ever do a soft-restart, so I never noticed.
