I feel like AIDA64 pricing is all over the place right now.

The cheapest edition for home users is $60 annually. That's way too expensive for a monitoring software. Much more complex software (that is native 64bit and has dark mode) costs less. Also the fact the the cheapest edition is named Extreme. Should there not be a Basic edition for $20 and with a longer lasting license?

Also the Engineer and Business edition pricing makes no sense. Why is Engineer priced the same as Business, when Business is a superset of Engineer in terms of features?

Why would ANYONE buy Engineer edition when they can buy the Business edition for the same money and get a superior version with what seems very similar licensing terms?

    Engineer edition should cost less.

    Here are my proposed prices:

Basic: $20 annually or $60 3-Year license. Cuts benchmarking and stress testing features from Extreme. Also limits license to 1 PC instead of 3 like Extreme.

Extreme: $60. Stays the same as now.

Network: $130. Stays the same as now.

Engineer: $180. Price lowered to reflect inferior feature set.

Business: $220. Stays the same as now.

First of all, we've kept the same price of $39.95 for 17 looong years (for the Extreme edition).  If you calculate with only 2 percent average annual inflation -- not counting the jump in the inflation rate recently -- the base price would already be $58.2 by now.  The only issue is that we haven't followed the slow pace of inflation by slowly increasing our prices, but instead offered it for the same (IMHO by now quite low) price.  The sharp jump in inflation forced us to alter our prices, but they're still lower than what simply by following inflation would bump them up by now.

As for basic edition, no, we're not interested in cutting the features set and make a lower-priced edition for home users.  We will do the opposite and offer more features for a higher price actually.

The rest is well, it's your take on our prices, and I appreciate your input.  But we have a different idea about our pricing scheme.  You may also want to study the licensing scheme more thoroughly: the Engineer and Business editions target different type of use.  So it makes little sense to compare their prices against each other (apples vs. oranges).  Also, please note that you do not have to pay *whatever price* annually.  We've designed the licensing scheme so that you only should (may need to) purchase a renewal license when the old version no longer serves your needs.  You can skip 3 or 4 years and enjoy AIDA64 as long as it fulfills your needs.  You do not need to renew AIDA64 every year if you e.g. don't upgrade to the latest Windows and don't upgrade to the latest hardware.  Only those folks who live on the cutting edge of PC hardware+software are the ones that actually find it necessary to keep renewing their licenses regularly.

    PROBLEM STATEMENT

    1. AIDA64 upscales the SensorPanel based on the scale of the main monitor, 150%.
    2. AIDA64 changes the SensorPanel's resolution Preference from 1280x800 to 1920x1200.
    3. AIDA64 displays the SensorPanel on the primary display even though the SensorPanel was moved to the 2ndary display an locked there.
    4. After modifying the SensorPanel size Preference back to 1280x800, AIDA64 continues to upscale the SensorPanel even though the same .sensorpanel file is imported.
    5. AIDA64 is ignoring the SPWIDTH and SPHEIGHT within the .sensorpanel configuration.

    DETAILS

I have a Dell ultra-wide 5120x2160 monitor and a Jonsbo D41 LCD screen 1280x800 (which I use for the SensorPanel).

    Windows 11 Display Settings

    • Multiple Displays
      • Remember windows location based on monitor connection
      • Extend these displays (Monitor 1 (Dell monitor) extends to Monitor 2, the Jonsbo LCD screen)
    • Display selection
      • Monitor 1:  Dell monitor (see settings below)
      • Monitor 2:  Jonsbo LCD display (see settings below)
    • Graphics Card
      • Monitor 1:  Intel ARC A770 Limited Edition (discrete GPU) (Display Port)
      • Monitor 2:  Intel ARC A770 Limited Edition (discrete GPU) (HDMI [only])
    • Dell Monitor Display Settings (main display)
      • Scale:  150% (recommended)
      • Display resolution:  5120x2160 (recommended)
      • Display orientation:  Landscape
    • Jonsbo LCD Display Settings (2nd display)
      • Scale:  100% (recommended)
      • Display resolution:  1280x800 (recommended)
      • Display orientation:  Landscape (flipped)

AIDA64 Sensor Panel Preferences (Reference the attached aida64_NM1QXpGKwR.png file attached.)

    • Show SensorPanel:  Yes
    • Keep SensorPanel the topmost window (always on top):  Yes
    • Prevent SensorPanel from being minimized:  Yes
    • Lock panel position:  Yes
    • Lock panel size:  Yes
    • Enable context menu:  (Yes for now, but once stabilized, I will turn this off)
    • SensorPanel background color:  [Black]
    • SensorPanel transparency:  0%
    • SensorPanel size:  1280x800

The 2nd line of the SensorPanel file, "David Update 2023-07-16.sensorpanel" (attached), states the following:

    • <SPWIDTH>1280</SPWIDTH><SPHEIGHT>800</SPHEIGHT><SPBGCOLOR>0</SPBGCOLOR>

With the Scale of the main monitor set to 150% and even though the SensorPanel size is locked to 1280x800 and placed on 1280x800 display, as soon as I restart my system or I import the sensorpanel config again, the SensorPanel Preferences changes the size to 1920x1200.  (Reference the attached aida65_KoRgFsqL8.png.)  Not only that, when the SensorPanel displays after a reboot, it displays on the main display, not the 2ndary display despite the fact that I moved it to the 2ndary display and locked it there.

I've also tried using a combination of the integrated GPU on the Intel i9-13900K display for the LCD panel, but the same problem exists.

Please note that it's quite difficult to solve this issue on our side.  To let you get a bit of insight into the problem: SensorPanel is a window, and a part of the AIDA64 main process.  All windows belonging to the AIDA64 process share the same DPI configuration.  So when you move a window (e.g. the SensorPanel) away from the main window, it will still keep (inherit) the same DPI setting that all AIDA64 windows share.  So when your main monitor (where you launch AIDA64) has a 150% DPI setting, the SensorPanel will also use that.  The SensorPanel will look and act the same on your main display and your secondary display even if the latter has a different DPI setting.  It would require a lot of work on our part to make sure all AIDA64 windows (incl. the SensorPanel) can dynamically resize and follow DPI changes when they are moved from one display to another.  We're committed to do the job, to make our homework, but sadly it will take more time than what we originally estimated on it :(

I understand your frustration.  We're quite frustrated too, but it's because it's very-very difficult to solve this issue on our side.

So I got ASUS's recently released AIO the Ryujin III for cooling and hardware monitoring. But there has been a glitch where after I put my PC to sleep and wake it back up the screen turns off. Seeing a new firmware in Armory crate I got to update it it only to fail since AIDA is up and trying to access the screen on the AIO, but AIDA WILL NOT F***ING CLOSE. as soon as I try to it pops back up, so I try to update AIDA only for it that top not work since AIDA won't close. I try to fully uninstall AIDA only for a skeleton version so still pop up, which according to windows in uninstalled, and cause my update for BOTH THE AIO AND AIDA ITSELT TO CONTNIUE TO FAIL. This is among the most maddened I have every been at a bug in my life.

Please avoid swearing if possible.  I understand that you're very frustrated at this issue.  Please know that you can kill the AIDA64.EXE process using the Task Manager in case you cannot find any "more gentle" ways to make it close or force it to close.  And once you killed the process, you should be able to either uninstall it or update it to another version.

Regarding the bug itself, based on your topic title I'm not sure if this issue can only be fixed by Asus or both Asus and us have to work together to get it resolved.

    Hello,

when trying to start the System Stabilty Test from tray menu- >  tools - nothing happens

sorry for reporting this so late, it was already not working since (at least) the BETA before v6.88.6441

Edit: All other tools start just fine, ex AIDA64 CPUID etc.
OS: Win 11 Pro for Workstations, 22H2, Build 22621.1992 - Kernel Protection disabled (for accurate CPU/Kernel Mhz measurements)

That could happen when the System Stability Test window is already open but falls out of the visible area of the Windows Desktop.  Can you open the System Stability Test from main menu / Tools?

    Hello,

As we can see from the specifications on the Intel website, i9-13900K and i9-12900K processors only support dual-channel mode:

    https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/230496/intel-core-i913900k-processor-36m-cache-up-to-5-80-ghz.html

But Aida reports about the Quad-channel mode:

Please note that each DDR5 channel consists of 2 subchannels.

    Hi;

I just got a USB-C attached 'Sandisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD' external drive. Model SDSSDE81-4T00 / RN SA3B.

It shows up in Aida 64 6.88.6400 under Storage/Physical drives, but not in Storage/Smart.

I see that this will show smart data under CrystalDiskInfo as a "WD_BLACK SN850XE 4000GB", Firmware 624131EX for what it's worth.

Can this be made to show smart data in Aida64? Since this drive type has been dying on people I was hoping to see the Smart data displayed in Aida64.

    Thanks;

        -Greg

Thanks for providing some insight on dark mode functionality on AIDA64!

I get that not having API access makes it very difficult, however, you guys dont need to make it a beautifully polished perfect dark mode. Id say most of us would be perfectly happy with a more temporary solution, thats not dark mode, but allows us to darken the backlight or something, with contrast, etc, if possible?

The dark mode is more important that you guys may realize, as a vast number of your past customer base was/is office professionals and such, so they dont need dark mode, but now, alot of your newer customers are at home, diy, or streamers in the PC entusiast space and I can tell you from being in both camps, that white screen is rough after you leave the overluminescence of current office spaces and get home - even mid day!

Again though, thanks for the insight!

Microsoft has grown to large. They need some humbling!

Yes, we're working on a gradual implementation of the dark mode in AIDA64.  First we need to simplify the UI to make it much easier to implement dark mode.  Stay tuned ;)

is it possible to do a wraparound for these variables?

    Example:

    $MOBOMODEL

This currently outputs for me a one line string.  "Asus TUF Gaming x570-Plus" which is a little long depending on your panel.

I'd like to wrap it around more like

    Asus TUF Gaming
    x570-Plus

Anyway to do this now?  Can it be included in the future? (Same for the other variables?)

    Side note, I have 2 GPU's but there isn't a $GPU2MODEL ?

    Thanks

I'm afraid AIDA64 doesn't support word wrapping on labels, and we have no plans to make it happen.

$GPU2MODEL should work.   Is your secondary GPU properly detected by AIDA64 on the Display / GPU page?

but how will asus implement rotation in aida 64?! asus only uses Armory Crate, aida64 does not apply to them.

AIDA64 uses Asus' own API to send images to their display devices.  Asus can implement an option in Armoury Crate to let you rotate the screen image.

hello, despite my research I can't find a solution. I use the ROG RYUJIN II, the latter has a USB screen on which aida64 can broadcast the monitoring. I want to orient the ROG screen in landscape except in aida64 there is no orientation option... does anyone know the solution?!

We haven't implemented rotation support for that display because Asus said they will implement it in their software framework.

Could a short cut be added to this menu for AIDA64 CPUID?

Also, any chance of a GPU-Z variant that could have a shortcut in the same menu?

It's already there, in the Tools menu ;)

As for a GPU-Z alternative, we currently have no plans to develop such a panel for AIDA64.

So my first foreye into aida64 was a 3.5 inch usb screen.  Works great, but it’s too small, and I feel I need just a little more space (for now…) and with prime days being on currently I thought I’d ask here… especially seeing as the LAST TWO 5 inch IPS USBc displays I got turned out to be unsupported Turing 5’s (turzx).

which did nothing but waste my time…

anyways, every time I come across a 5 inch it seems to have “aida64 not needed” after claiming “for aida64” in the actual product name/listing.

so I’m asking here…. Do any of you have a trusted verified Amazon link to one that’ll work?

If not, I’d even welcome an alternative source (not eBay ugh) for a usbc only display.

    Thanks.

(hopefully this is okay to post here…)

Maybe BeadaPanel would suit your needs?

    Hello,

Why does the GPGPU benchmark show Memory Read/Write results so much lower than the x64 CPU?

The iGPU is located on the same chip as the Memory Controller and CPU, and should show the same read/write speed.

Probably it's because there's a bottleneck between the iGPU compute units and CPU cores in terms of how fast it can transfer data back and forth.

Running version 6.88.6400 on my Win11 Home PC. For whatever reason, when the PC wakes from sleep mode, my CPU Frequency and Ram Frequency items disappear from the censor panel. Everything else remains, and keeps working, just not those to items. The only fix is to completely close and relaunch AIDA. Both are configured as Simple Sensor Items for CPU Clock and RAM Clock respectively. All the other items on my panel; cpu temp, util, power, ram util, temps, & gpu stuff have no issue, just the two listed above...

What motherboard and CPU do you have?

You use incorrect custom labels for your drives.  The temperatures are correct, but you need to rename "M.2 980 PRO 2TB" to "KINGSTON 2TB" and "M.2 980 PRO 2TB #2" to "KINGSTON 2TB #2".  You of course need to do the same with the current "KINGSTON 2TB" labels too.
