Fiery replied to hsm06's topic in Bug reports
We're currently testing the fix with all RST and RSTe driver releases we've got, and the results are so far promising It will fix all issues reported so far, both slowdowns and BSoDs. -

We're already working on it. I'll post a new AIDA64 beta download link into this topic once the bug is fixed. It should be ready later today or tomorrow. -
I've sent you a private message.

No Hard Disk Temperature (AMD AHCI + WinXP 32-bit)
Fiery replied to cqh5288's topic in Hardware monitoring
Exactly. From the developer's perspective only the Win7 AMD AHCI driver can provide full IDE autodetect and SMART information block for all connected disk drives. The rest of the drivers provide crippled information -
No Hard Disk Temperature (AMD AHCI + WinXP 32-bit)
Fiery replied to cqh5288's topic in Hardware monitoring
Thank you. We've performed test runs in the past few days to see how AMD AHCI/RAID drivers work, and whether they have been improved recently. But no, they're still badly written, at least on the software interaction level So I'm afraid there's no perfect solution for the issue you reported. The only good news I can provide is that at least under Windows 7 (and the upcoming Windows 8) in AHCI mode temperature measurement will work fine -- if you ever decide to let Windows XP go -
Thank you for the feedback

We've implemented support for Gmail SMTP in the latest AIDA64 beta release available at: *** AIDA64 Business Edition: http://www.aida64.com/downloads/aida64businessbuild2042w7lyc3phsvzip *** AIDA64 Extreme Edition: http://www.aida64.com/downloads/aida64extremebuild2042w0dzjk8lqczip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. Let me know how it works. You need to specify smtp.gmail.com for the SMTP server, and use the default SMTP port (25).

fixed: Unable to detect WD Caviar Black 2TB temperature.
Fiery replied to Xtreme's topic in Bug reports
Make sure to enable both RAID options in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Stability, and restart AIDA64 to apply the changes. RAID member enumeration RAID SMART support If it doesn't help, then update Intel RST Enterprise drivers to the latest WHQL release. Regards, Fiery -
No, it's not possible to identify the source of errors. When you read from the memory, the data gets into one or more of the CPU caches first, then the CPU processes the data, so even if you find a CRC error, it is not possible to tell where the data went wrong. When there's a hardware failure, we usually recommend to set back things to factory default settings (avoid any sort of overclocking), update the BIOS to the latest one, update drivers to the latest ones, and if possible, reinstall Windows. If that still doesn't help, then you'd start with trying another set of memory modules, and then a new PSU. In most cases that procedure reveals the source of the problem.

Failed to connect
Fiery replied to Alexandr's topic in Network audit, change tracking, SQL databases
If you are connected via Remote System Information, then your messages will be sent via the TCP/IP port for Remote System Information. If you are connected via Remote Monitor, then your messages will be sent via the TCP/IP port for Remote Monitor. BTW, are you using AIDA64 Business Edition v2.50? (latest version) -
Generally speaking, we recommend to let the stess test run for at least a couple of hours. If you have time to leave it running, then give it 12 to 24 hours. Regards, Fiery

Failed to connect
Fiery replied to Alexandr's topic in Network audit, change tracking, SQL databases
It could be a port or firewall issue. You can configure the TCP/IP port for each AIDA64 remote feature in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Remote Features. -
Make sure to improve the cooling of your system. If you don't have a rear exhaust fan, installing one may be a huge help in driving out the hot air from the system case.

If you want to stress your system to check if it is overheating under heavy load, then go to AIDA64 / main menu / Tools / System Stability Test. Only enable the "FPU" subtest, and disable the rest. Press the Start button, and watch the bottom graph for any throttling activity. If the green graph stays at 0% all the time, even after running the FPU test for cca. 30 minutes, then your system can stand heavy load without overheating. If the green graph turns red and shows any non-zero activity, then your CPU is overheating.

Most BIOS will not show the core diode readings at all. If you're unsure about the core temperature accuracy in AIDA64, then you can adjust the TJMax value in AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring.

Please try to remove KERNELD.* files from AIDA64 folder.

Feature request: Show if MBR or GBT partition table is used
Fiery replied to Lukaso's topic in General Discussion
It's actually easy to identify drives with a GPT partition table. Go to AIDA64 / Storage / Physical Drives, and check the Partition Type column. If any of the partitions are FAT, FAT32 or NTFS, then it's a classic MBR. If it's one of these, then it's GPT: Basic Data (this is the most common one) EFI System LDM Metadata LDM Data MS Recovery MS Reserved Unused Regards, Fiery -
I wouldn't worry too much about those idle temperatures. Of course there may be a bit of room for improvement if you could improve the air flow of your system case. E.g. install a rear exhaust fan, and/or have a CPU cooler that blows air straight into the rear exhaust. I personally am not a huge fan of side mounted CPU fans

Please try to replace /SAFE with /SAFEST. Let me know if it helps. Thanks, Fiery
