Thank you. We'll improve on the ThinkPad EC support in the next AIDA64 beta release. It will be out in a few days. I'll drop a message into this topic once the new beta is available for download. Good news is, on your notebook the CPU fan speed RPM reading will be available even in ACPI query mode
-
Exactly. You can either have the Power Manager uninstalled, and use direct EC register readout (which would bring back the CPU fan RPM value); or you can use it as is now, with no CPU fan reading. Theoretically, the CPU fan reading should be available even with ACPI queries, but it seems it doesn't work with your system for some reason. If you like to do experiments, then right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> ACPI Tool. In there push the Find button, and enter: HSPD If it finds a HSPD entry, then double-click on it to see if it works and returns a fan RPM value. Let me know how it goes If it works, then please push the Save DSDT button, and attach the resulting binary file to your forum post. We'll then diagnose the issue to further tune the new ThinkPad EC module.

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately not all values can be monitored using ACPI queries. The rest of the values have been renamed to have generic labels (like Temperature #1), since the old labels (like GPU, Battery, etc) were based on guesses, and not facts or specs. Please make sure to check the Computer / Sensor page for the list of all available values. I think the "GPU" temperature will be there, but now labelled as "Temperature #3".

How to view other AIDA64 Benchmark scores online?
Fiery replied to 1705T's topic in Benchmarking, system performance
We don't yet have an online database for benchmark results. We may introduce such a feature in a year or so. Regards, Fiery -
We've added the DLL machine type tag to the end of the DLL file lines on the SAPI page. Localization for the new AIDA64 features will be implemented later on, sometime in May. Make sure to upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme Edition available at: http://www.aida64.co...22gwrm8td6xfzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade.

We've completely revamped the ThinkPad EC sensor module of AIDA64. The new module will only use direct EC register readout when Lenovo Power Manager is not installed on the system. When it is installed, AIDA64 will only use high-level ACPI queries to avoid conflicts with the Power Manager application. Make sure to upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme Edition available at: http://www.aida64.co...22gwrm8td6xfzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. Let me know how it works. This new version may help about the issue described in the topic's opening post as well.

Valid points are listed there. We do have plans about a revamped Alerting module where we'll make the changes you requested. As for the controls in the Preferences window, they only follow the width change of the Preferences window if it makes sense to widen the control further than its default size. When there's no benefit from making the controls wider, they keep their size intact. Due to long lists in the Preferences, height for most listviews are automatically adjusted to benefit from the height increase of the Preferences window.

The Auto Start page in AIDA64 shows the applications (processes) started at Windows bootup, so it shows the list that you can see on the Logon tab of the Autoruns application. The Explorer tab of Autoruns shows context menu handlers -- those are not auto-started applications, hence they have no place on the Auto Start page of AIDA64. The Internet Explorer tab of Autoruns shows the browser extensions for IE -- those are not auto-started applications either, so they cannot be listed on the Auto Start page of AIDA64. As for application details like Company Name, you can double-click on any item of the Auto Start page to open the standard Windows file properties window.

SensorPanel URL function on labels and images, how?
Fiery replied to Darkje's topic in Hardware monitoring
Currently double-click URLs only work if you have the SensorPanel position locked (in main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring / SensorPanel). Regards, Fiery -
You need to purchase a single AIDA64 Extreme Engineer license from ABSEIRA: https://www.abseira.com/webcart/add?product=aida64_ee You could use that AIDA64 edition from portable media (USB flash drives) without the need to install it on the actual computer. In case you need to compile a network audit of your clients' computers, then you will need a special license of AIDA64 Business Edition. In that case make sure to contact ABSEIRA for a price quote. It's not possible with AIDA64. But, you can take the resulting HTML/MHTML files, and modify them by adding an image. Of course embedding the image into the MHTML file would be a bit difficult, but if your computers have internet connection then you can upload the files to a web server (or an image hosting service) and add just the IMG tags to the HTML/MHTML files. If you do so, no image file embedding would be necessary. Regards, Fiery

2.30.1900 - Operating System - Uptime blank?
Fiery replied to miles267's topic in Hardware monitoring
UpTime Statistics is based on Event Log entries, more specifically the System log. If you have the System log erased or you have no rights to read the System log, then AIDA64 will be unable to display UpTime Statistics. Regards, Fiery -
Updating the Power Manager application will not help in this case, but it's of course good to have the latest version installed. Please stay with the latest AIDA64 beta. We're already working on a special method for AIDA64 ThinkPad EC module to eliminate the direct EC calls, and so eliminate the collisions with the ThinkPad Power Manager application. Please give us a couple of days to finish up and properly test the new AIDA64. As for the temperature and fan speed spikes, they are all due to collisions between AIDA64 and the ThinkPad Power Manager application. Just ignore any unusually high or low values. Thanks, Fiery

Thank you for the test. 144 Celsius is an incorrect value that is read only because AIDA64 EC register readout collides with the ThinkPad Power Manager application or some other application that also accesses the EC simultaneously with AIDA64. At 144 Celsius your CPU would fry and would never work again We'll work more on the EC access method, we'll try to synchronize it with Lenovo's own software to avoid collisions. But, if you can somehow temporarily close or disable those Lenovo power management software, you could see the warnings and errors become the rate I've mentioned above (1 per hour). CPU2 means the 2nd logical processor, which in your case is the 2nd core of your CPU.

We've implemented Used Memory, Free Memory, Used Swap Space, Free Swap Space sensor icons, all in GigaBytes. Make sure to upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme Edition available at: http://www.aida64.com/downloads/aida64extremebuild1917z8kpq0xdhvzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. Let me know how it works. Thanks, Fiery

We've implemented the Swap Space Utilization hardware monitoring item to let you diagnose your systems more easily. Implementing paging file information as a hardware monitoring item would be quite difficult, since you can have one or a lot of paging files. As for the virtual memory information, we'll wait for more users requests, since at this time we're not convinced it is a meaningful readout that people wanna monitor. Most people are confused about virtual memory readouts, and we prefer not to overcrowd the hardware monitoring items with confusing bits Make sure to upgrade to the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme Edition available at: http://www.aida64.co...17z8kpq0xdhvzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade.

We've fine-tuned the Embedded Controller register readout in the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme Edition available at: http://www.aida64.co...17z8kpq0xdhvzip After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade. Let me know how it works. There's a chance you'd still get occasional warnings in the Event Log, but it should be much less frequent than before, typically one per hour or even more rare. Everyone else reading this: please note that this issue only affects Windows XP systems. ThinkPads with Windows Vista or Windows 7 are not affected by this issue at all, fortunately.

It looks like a very useful tool indeed. However, with AIDA64 we focus on reporting 100% accurate system details, and measure system performance using state-of-the-art benchmark methods. We currently do not have the resources to make AIDA64 a tweaking tool. However, in case you have an idea about how to improve the Auto Start programs reporting capabilities of AIDA64, post it into this topic Regards, Fiery

Thank you for the tests. I assume you are using AIDA64 v2.30?
