EVGA 1080Ti Sensors (EVGA iCX)

Recommended Posts

Will we be seeing a sensor update for the evga 1080ti cards that have 2xGPU temps,  3xMem temps,  5xPower Temps 3xFan rpms...

I second this question/request (providing all the EVGA iCX values in AIDA64). I am hoping it is as simple as reading from the correct register location.

Yes, but first we need to find out whether the register readout works on your video cards.  Both of you, please right-click on the bottom status bar of AIDA64 main window --> Video Debug --> nVIDIA SMBus Dump. Copy-paste the full results into this topic, or attach the results as a TXT file to your post. You may need to enable status bar in AIDA64 / main menu / View first.

Thanks,

Sry for the delay,   did not get a notify of replies.   Let me know if you need any more info.   On the forums for "1080Ti owners" some people are reporting they can read more temps and more then 1 fan rpm even though its NOT an EVGA iCX card.   I have no clue if its true or not though.   Thanks for keeping Aida64 so up-to-date like you do for all hardware!

Thank you for the dump.  Yes, we'll add it, but first, we need to find a way to detect the presence of the iCX MCU.  So far we haven't found a reliable way of doing that, but we keep looking for a proper solution.  Please give us a few more days to investigate this.

Thanks for the update...

We've implemented preliminary EVGA iCX sensor support in the latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme available at:

https://www.aida64.com/downloads/latesta64xebeta

After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade.

Let me know how it works. Note that the iCX related readings will only appear on the Computer / Sensor page at this time.  As the new sensor module gets more mature, we'll add the readings to the LCD, SensorPanel, OSD Panel (etc) modules as well.

Please note that currently it supports a single video card model: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 iCX. If it doesn't work on your video card, or in case you have a different video card that features iCX sensor, please submit a fresh nVIDIA SMBus Dump.

Seems too be working just fine on the computer/sensor tab compared to the readings in EVGA Precision XOC.

If you run  into problems adding to the LCD or if it take too long please get it at least working on the "Alerting" system so we can setup warnings or power down the system.

Thank U very much!

Thank you for your feedback. We'll complete the iCX support in the next AIDA64 beta update due later this week.  I'll post a message into this topic once the new beta build becomes available for download.

Please submit a report from the About page, and if possible, we will fix the reported issue in the next AIDA64 app update.

The remote LCD as well as the logging and alerting all seem to be working great.

You really should add an OCD warning to the LCD tab though.  :P

  Thanks...

The GPU sensors (GPU1/2,MEM1/2/3,PWM1/2/3/4/5,FAN1/2/3) are working great for me on the LCD. Thank you for getting this working, it is very much appreciated!

Hi,

All I see is the one gpu temp that has always been there, how do I get GPU1/2,MEM1/2/3,PWM1/2/3/4/5 temps to show?

I am on water if that matters.

Thank you.  It's rather odd, now it really should work.  Can you please post an updated screen shot of the Computer / Sensor page of AIDA64?

Could there be anything I've done wrong in some setting or bios?

Precision X is showing all sensors, so they should be there...

Sry for so many posts, but found my issue regarding this, I didnt start EVGA PrecisionX before, so as long as PrecisionX is running Aida will pick up all the sensors.

Any chance for not needing the PrecisionX for Aida to show all the sensors?

Edit: Now it seems like it is working fine without PrecisionX, I have no clue of what made it work, but anyhow, problem solved :)

Edit: Now it stopped working and by closing Aida64 then start PrecisionX and then start Aida64 again it works, so guess there seems to be som driver issues here? FYI I am using regular windows drivers for my 1080ti FTW3.

I'm really not sure what could cause in PrecisionX to make AIDA64 stop working.  The next time you notice the loss of iCX-related sensor readings from the Sensor page, please create an updated nVIDIA SMBus Dump , so we can see what registers changed in what way from the normal state.

We've added support for the built-in 160x32 pixel monochrome LCD screen of EVGA Z10 gaming keyboard.  You can enable the LCD device from AIDA64 / main menu / File / Preferences / Hardware Monitoring / LCD / EVGA.
      [/
Currently AIDA64 communicates with the LCD directly, using USB HID interface.  It collides with EVGA's own software (EVGA Unleash), so it's recommended to close that software before enabling EVGA Z10 support in AIDA64.  EVGA will soon develop a proper SDK/API for their keyboard, much like the LCD API of Logitech gaming keyboards, so that multiple software can put information on the LCD the same time, without collisions.
You can find the new AIDA64 beta update at:
      https://www.aida64.com/downloads/latesta64xebeta
Please let us know if you find any difficulties enabling or using this new feature. Also let us know if you've got another kind of LCD device that is currently unsupported by AIDA64.

got an issue here were i can not mirigate to AiDA64 from Everest, due to the AlphaLcd software needs a plugin to detect AIDA64, will the new AiDA64 natively support the Alpha Lcd? i have been messing with the acEverest.dll But no joy ,not really good in that department .

i am stuck to how to sort this big problem, as i use this screen and Everest all the time and i want this AIDA64 to correct a few bugs with the current I7 setup ect i have now with the old everest.

      anyone?

So first I want to say, amazing support for CrystalFontz CFA835 LCD. It works great (and I love the greyscale support)! Only a few things (3) I wish AIDA64 did with this LCD and it would be PERFECT for me. I am a software developer, so I THINK this would be easy, but I know it depends on how the code is factored at the moment (ie. cfa635/735/835 all using the same code base such that writing specific code for cfa835 is not that easy). I am also not sure if AIDA64 is calling the API directly or not, so my suggestions might not be possible. And of course, these are all suggestions, I don't actually expect any special development time just for my suggestions (but I wouldn't turn it down).
      1) Support for turning off keypad backlight (and/or adjusting it independently from the LCD backlight). Using cfTest, this is packet type 14, and you can send \xxx (where xxx is 000-100 for both backlights) or you can send \xxx\yyy (where xxx is 000-100 for LCD and yyy is 000-100 for keypad backlight). I assume right now, all the slider in AIDA64 does is send the single \xxx which adjusts both backlights. I would LOVE to either have 1) two sliders, one for LCD and one for keypad and if either are adjusted, it sends both (\xxx\yyy) to update the cfa835 OR 2) one slider adjusts the LCD backlight and a checkbox for keypad backlight on/off (which would toggle either just sending \xxx or sending \xxx\000).
Usecase: I don't want the keypad backlight on at all since it makes one of the cases I have it in look bad AND is too bright and it is super easy to find the keys anyway since the lcd screen is lit up!
      2) Keypad support (either up/down or left/right) to adjust the brightness (in 10% increments or something) such that it can also go to 0 (off). Right now up/down AND left/right change between the 4 pages, and really only one set is necessary. This would allow turning off the backlight completely and then with a push of the arrow keys, upping the brightness to useful levels in the room.  Alternatively, one of the OK or CANCEL buttons on the keypad could work to toggle LCD (or both) backlights on/off if that was easier.
Usecase: I have one CFA835 next to my monitor and while playing certain dark games, I would like to turn the backlight off, but be able to turn it back on when necessary.
      3) Reboot module on exit. When exiting AIDA64, it appears AIDA64 does some cleanup API calls to the CFA835 that 1) turn off the backlights 2) clear the screen 3) turn off all GPIO LEDs. This leaves it in a very strange state. I would really love it to instead call Reset (packet type 5) with Module Reboot (\008\018\099) or even Module Soft Reboot (\008\025\048).
Usecase: the module can be setup with the exact options: brightness, lcd screen text/image, gpio led, etc. to use as boot state, so I have set that up with my preferences for each lcd and it would be perfect if/when AIDA64 exits it would issue the reset command so that it would be in this state without requiring a powercycle of the CFA835 (for external USB one) or issuing the reset module command myself via cfTest (for internal USB one).
I have used AIDA64 for years and it is INCREDIBLE, so thank you for all the development work (especially on the LCDs).
Also, completely off topic for LCD screens: I am crossing my fingers that AIDA64 gains support the evga 1080ti ftw3 to read the 3 temps (gpu, power, memory) and 3 fan speeds; I know this is an AIO board, so it might not be possible or may never happen, but I can dream (right now AIDA64 can only read the standard GPU Temp and one of the three fans). If the evga1080ti-ftw3 temps/fans + 3 LCD items I listed above were accomplished, I would be in complete PC monitoring bliss!
      Thank you for your time,
      BAG
